Wonder if 9 run rule can be used on 11:00 starts.

I figured the very early start just threw Gio off. But the Red Sox lineup was certainly not affected by it. Their pre-game meal must have been raw meat.

I think JD hit a fastball on to the freeway

TLR needs to pull Gio.

Home run

Yoan gets First Star.

Grandal's family had gotten tickets in advance for Friday and Sunday's games, so TLR figured Grandal should catch both.

TLR figures he has to catch a doubleheader tomorrow?.....................

That was their 3-4-5. He owned them

Robert 2 bad throws

The "Eck is doing color on Boston feed. Big Tony LaRussa guy. Said he was great to pitch for. FYI--Eck coined the term "Walk-Off"

To brighten up the sky .........................

Due to lousy weather, the Red Sox will wear bright yellow uniforms this weekend. Hopefully it will not distract the White Sox. https://www.masslive.com/redsox/2021/04/boston-red-sox-uniforms-why-are-the-sox-wearing-yellow-and-blue-jerseys-this-weekend.html

I like this lineup in that it still has a power hitter in Roberts in the bottom third. Need production in 3/4 slots as Abreu and Moncada race to get to .200 Fenway will be cold, outfield will be wet but might get a little sun by 1st pitch. Maybe Vaughn should wear his batting helmet in the field.

But their pitching is also better off since they played 4 games against Minny in 3 days going into tonight. But both face a doubleheader Sunday and an 11:00 am on Monday which will be interesting

Maybe not w the weather

I think that was a very good catch. His throw was off but it wasn't contested.

The Fenway wall will be fun this weekend. Eloy might have put some dents in it w his body.

Robert has been struggling in the 2 so they moved him to 7 and he had 2 hits. Now you want to move him to the 3. That makes no sense.

Too bad such a great event for him happened under restricted attendance. Hopefully he has some family/friends at the game

Agree. Their offense is on fire but their pitching is suspect. Hopefully we dent that wall all weekend

Agree. Boston has won 9 straight with a lot of questions on their pitching staff so I figure we will end that at least but it would be great to sweep them.

Hopefully it starts in Boston.

You are getting carried away. He started every game but one. Lamb only had 2 AB so far and he was another LH option. Not sure it was really crazy. But I understand that when a player is this hot, you want to keep putting him in there especially since he does not need a break playing the field. Regardless of starter, I thought Vaughn should have started because he seems to have played sparingly the last week. TLR must still put high emphasis on left vs right against a RH starter which is not true w the stat geeks.

Why not win it in 9th?
