Worst Sox GM of all time
Frank Lane, Charles Comiskey the grandson, Hank Greenberg and Ed Short were the GMs during the 17 straight years of Go Go Sox winning baseball on the Southside, that's all I knew growing up in the 50's and 60's until it all came crumbling down with 3 horrible years in 68,69 and 70.

8/5 - Two steppin' in TX - Cease v Otto Game Thread - 7:05
We've been harping about the offense for 4 months now, these guys aren't all of a sudden aren't going to turn into Babe Ruth's and Willie Mays and start hitting 5 home runs a game. We do have 4 guys who are around .300 or better which is one good thing. TA is in a slump and Mighty Moncada is back to the Mendoza line.

Sounds like we're fucked.

Exactly, once you make the playoffs anything can happen especially with a short series.

Worst Sox GM of all time
I'm surprised the 1977 team didn't make the list which would have been during Hemond's term and surprised the 1966 team made the list as they were only 83-79.

You can put in on the board YES!!!

What is up with Tim Anderson?
He's batting .313 but it's a weak .313 with 5 Homer's and only 25 RBI, I know he's the leadoff guy but still it's pretty putrid. Then there's his fielding and base running, again pretty weak. Someone needs to have a chat with him with the season on the line.

Worst Sox GM of all time
Good work on that list. My favorite was Frank Lane who built the GO GO Sox. He was quite a character who once thought of trading the whole team when he took over the Cardinals and he traded managers when he was with the Indians. He also traded Indian favorite Rocky Colovito to Detroit for Harvey Kueen which almost led to riots in Cleveland I also liked Ed Short who made the Luis Aparcio trade that brought us Hoyt Wilhelm, Pete Ward, Ron Hansen and Dave Nicholson after the 62 season, The Sox had their 3 best consecutive seasons in their history in 63, 64 and 65 winning 94, 98 and 95 games in those 3 seasons, and came close to winning the pennant in 67 with a great pitching but a horrible hitting team. I think we all know what happened in the last week of the 67 season.

It depends on your goals
I've been following them since 1952 and have managed to keep my sanity. This season has tested everyone's sanity and I say they have to do all they can to win the division because you never know what can happen in a short series, that being said we aren't close to to being real World Series contenders like the Yankees, Dodgers and Astros. Let's hope they win the Division but in the off season the Front Office is going to have to do a re-tool. I think Abreu has 1 more year in the tank but he should be used as DH a lot more next year, this way Vaughn can play his natural posistion at first base. Moncada is becoming a lost cause, he's just about back to the Mendoza line again but he's got that contract, somehow the F.O.has to find another team to take him off our hands. Rightfield, second base and catcher are positions that need to be addressed, give Burger a shot at 3rd. Harrison has done a pretty good job after a terrible few months of the season, I think he would make a very good utility guy and can be a late inning defensive replacement for Burger. It looks like Grandal has lost his power and is not a good catcher, he's another guy that somehow has to be moved and a decent catcher picked up. Lastly somehow JR has to come to his senses and send TLR packing. What would be even better is if JR sold the club.

Reese McGuire (+ Taylor Broadway) to Red Sox for LHRP Jake Diekman
Earth shattering trade, start printing the World Series tickets.

What is status of Luis Robert?
So did he have a cold or was that a smoke screen?

White Sox tried to trade for Ohtani
Who wouldn't be interested.

Time to buy, not sell
Everything goes back to JR, he's never believed in spending big money on the farm system or what he described as potential. I'm not sure who the managers and coaches are at the Minor League level but I'm sure they aren't the best that money can buy as player development has not been a strong suit under JR's regime.

Time to buy, not sell
No doubt the odds would be against us but anything can happen in a short series.

Time to buy, not sell
Wouldn't it be great if we had a franchise that wasn't built to win now but constructed to win all the time like the Yankees and Dodgers. It won't happen as long as JR is the owner is the owner of the Chicago American League Baseball Club. I also believe that we need to be buyers, who would sell when you are only 2 games out in the Division and 2 games out of a WC spot.

That's a White Owl Wallop and a box of White Owl cigars for Leury Garcia.

07/30 - A's @ White Sox, 6:15 PM CT
They might want to re-think about him being the face of the franchise. He's no Harold Baines or Paul Konerko.
