  1. I think they should have changed their name to Great Rate. Great Rate Field has a nice ring to it.
  2. Lipcius has a nice Minor League track record, why hasn’t he advanced to the MLB level.
  3. What’s going on with Paredes, 3 teams in less than a year.
  4. Actually he was texting from a hospital room as he had some pretty serious surgery yesterday.
  5. Didn’t say as it was a short text.
  6. Red Sox golf crony of mine here in Florida thinks the White Sox fleeced the Sawx. Only time will tell.
  7. Is there any kind of game plan to actually improve the club?
  8. Remember it well.
  9. One of Sports Illustrated best covers ever.
  10. Some family member is wearing a Phillies cap, not a good sign.
  11. I remember that, I guess it will be up to his family.
  12. I started watching the Sox in 1952 on WGN with Jack Brickhouse doing the Play by Play with Vince Lloyd and Harry Creighton who was usually soused by the 5th inning, he really was into the suds from the Land of Sky Blue Waters. Back in those days they didn’t televise night games from Comiskey for attendance reasons, only day games were televised so I grew up listening to Bob Elson on the radio more than watching them on TV, can’t tell you how many nights I fell asleep with the transistor radio under my pillow.
  13. An all time favorite of mine, met him at a golf outing about 33 years ago, great guy, may he rest in peace.
  14. We have a dolt as GM who is in way over his head and doesn’t have a clue with the team more than likely on the way to another 100+ loss season. I’ve been a fan since 1952 but have just about had enough and if I don’t see any kind movement this off season to improve the team, sad to say I’m done.
  15. 2025 has a great chance of being worse than 2024.
  16. With the biggest fool being a cheapskate who still thinks it 1970.
  17. The Getz modus operandi hasn’t changed a bit.
  18. There are reports all over Tampa media that the deal could be in jeopardy. https://baynews9.com/fl/tampa/sports/2024/11/16/rays-stadium-deal-could-collapse https://www.tampabay.com/sports/2024/11/16/rays-stadium-deal-bonds-vote-pinellas-st-petersburg-tropicana-field-steinbrenner/ This is unbelievable, we were told this summer that the stadium was a done deal, baseball could very well be returning to Montreal. As someone who has watched this fiasco for years, I thought it was a mistake to build a new stadium again in St. Pete, the Rays fan fast base is in the city of Tampa and the surrounding suburbs. If they can’t work out a deal in Tampa they should look at Orlando which has tons of money or else it’s adios Florida which I think Sternberg has wished for all along, he knew that building a new stadium in St. Pete wasn’t the ideal situation and Tampa was the place but he took what he could get.
  19. I’ve been to Dodger Stadium, the edifice itself is no better than GRF, it’s the setting itself that makes its sort of cool sitting in Chavez Ravine and with the grandstand actually built into the side of a mountain. It’s a nightmare getting out of the parking lot and there is absolutely nothing around the place.
  20. Venable should be able to hire his own coaching staff, the days of JR favorite ex players as coaches like Baines and Boston must come to an end along with saying goodbye to TLR.
