Watching Kanny. Shane Murphy has been touched for 2 runs in 2 innings. He's been getting squeezed by the ump (HR after a non-called strike 3), but what's really shocking is how bad the position players are. Baldwin is a tier 3 prospect and almost no one else should ever make it out of A ball. 2023 draftees can't get there fast enough.

No one gives draft grades anymore, so reranking the farm system before any of the draftees play an inning is a complete clown move.

I don't prefer college guys with his contact issues. Sox are not the org to fix him.

Before we get too excited that this club has turned the corner keep in mind they were one pitch away from losing on Saturday and Sunday's starter, Koby Allard, just went on the 60 day IL. So they can pummel injured pitchers. Unfortunately, the Mets and Twins aren't that good either. Baseball draft is all about leverage. Taylor was a draft-eligible sophomore, meaning if he didn’t get a number, he could go back to LSU next year. Gonzalez was a Junior. If he didn’t sign, he’d be lowballed next year as a senior.
