  1. Colson 2-5 with 3K. Last at bat reverted to earlier season form of hacking early and often at sliders nowhere near the zone.
  2. He’s starting his second straight game. Three more and then they’ll release him.
  3. I think when they activate Civale, Shuster goes down. Hard to carry 4 lefties in the bullpen.
  4. I agree there’s no need to rush Bonemer. One concern, however, is that A ball pitchers won’t pitch to him. He’s being walked a lot. Some of it is him being selective, some of it is opponents have decided they’re not gonna let him beat them. At a certain point, the Sox may decide that he has to go up to be challenged. But that would be much closer to the end of the season.
  5. Why should Elko get more of an opportunity than, for instance, Baldwin. I want there to be real competition and real accountability. Play the best guys. It's not like Elko is a high draft pick
  6. No, they were trying to move him to the bullpen which is why he demanded a trade. I think his ERA is 3.33, but you have to factor in Milwaukee's stellar defense.
  7. Not a fan of Civale, however, it's him or Clevinger, so I love the trade. If Elko is not the answer, and his pedigree does make that unlikely, the Sox have a ton of options starting with moving Vargas there and playing some mix of Rojas, Sosa, Colson, Baldwin, or eventually even Antonacci or Bonemer at 3rd. First Base, not a tough position to fill. I wish Andrew the best and would not be surprised if the change of scenery plus the Miller Park effect really helps him.
  8. Guys do it enough that there’s a term “platinum sombrero” or “Olympic rings” to describe it. Generally, I like Slater well enough but he and Elko absolutely killed them last night. Maybe Slater should have kept the stache?
  9. McDougal’s emergence is one of the best things that could have happened to the Sox this year. The stuff is absolutely elite and he is still just 22. Kinda replaces Grant Taylor in my rotation dreams if Taylor does end up staying in the bullpen.
  10. Charlotte got walked off, but Clevinger pitched well for the second straight start. Hard to imagine he doesn't get the call at some point. Not loving it, but what you gonna do?
  11. Schultz also goes 5.2. 1H 0R 5bb 7K. So... I dunno. He was so dominant at the same level last year. He's still very good, but the walks are kind of shocking.
  12. Good night for McDougal 5.2 1ER 1bb 7K. He's their #3 pitching prospect right now. Probably top 15 in the system. Schultz no hits through 5, but 4bb and 6K.
  13. Another rough outing for Pallette. I wonder if he is struggling with the AAA ball or what. His control has completely deserted him.
  14. Over a .333 win percentage. The dream is coming true.
  15. To be fair, I have never been off the Baldwin bandwagon.
  16. Picking Kilen when the Sox already have Meidroth, Baldwin, Sosa, Gonzalez, Bergolla, Perez, Antonacci, and Mogollon -- all of whom project best at 2b -- would be an odd choice. I understand that you don't draft for need, but building a roster from 2b instead of ss would be so White Sox.
  17. Hmm, interesting question. Judging Getz on 2 years of managing the smoldering, bombed out wreck he inherited isn't entirely fair. I'll say that Williams had moments where he was a great individual contributor. Not sure he was great at building and maintaining an outstanding team of executives. Not sure Getz is much individually, but he seems to work better with others than Kenny ever did.
  18. Not a fan of moving Taylor out of the rotation, BUT if you do it, you gotta bring him right up. AA hitters had nothing to teach him. It looked like a guy chucking wiffle balls past preschoolers. So, good, I guess.
  19. Kanny wins on a walk off WP. 5-4.
  20. Braden 4-6, 10-5 Winston.
  21. Antonacci walks for the 4th time. Bases loaded 7-5 Winston.
  22. 6-5 now. Zavala another hit and an rbi. 3-5 with a HR
  23. Adisyn Coffey bails out Charlotte, they win 10-9. Winston gave up 2 HR in the 9th. Despite 12 hits and 5 walks, they are in extras tied 5-5.
  24. Disastrous outing for Pallette. 5 runs without an out. Ouch.
