  1. I am not particularly hopeful about Stiever. As was pointed out, he got ripped in AAA before the injury and has not pitched almost a year after lat surgery. By comparison, McDougal and Pallette both had TJS. The prognosis from that procedure is pretty good and so far neither of them has reported any setbacks. McDougal is already throwing. I feel way more confident that McDougal and Pallette will have a chance to be mlb starters than Stiever, although it is always wie to bet the under on any prospect's chances of making it.
  2. They seem light on a ton of guys in this system. Throwing a 55 on Montgomery and a 50 on Colas seems half a grade light on each. Seeing Burrowes so high among their DSL guys is surprising.

I think Colas was frustrated with Sox telling him to hit the other way to start the year. He likes to turn and burn. That ball was a bomb.
  4. There are two completely different zones in this game.

If baseball doesn't work out for him, please host a podcast called "The Claunch Angle."
  6. This seems like shade at the coaching staff as well as the players. I am not sure that Duncan is providing tons of analytical insight to our catchers.
  7. Cleveland ends the year with a 9 game homestand and holds the tiebreaker. Sox have to win and let the chips fall where they may. One reason for hope is that the teams in the East all have to play each other a lot. Sox can gain ground if they go on a streak. Sadly, that seems unlikely.
  8. Eh, to me Foster is just a guy. Every team has a lot of up and down righty reliever candidates. Lambert is a bullpen guy now. That is probably where Bilous ends up. Luke Schilling, Lane Ramsey, Caleb Freeman… even the Sox depleted system has some guys who might make it. It’s finding starters that’s hard. Thank God for Davis Martin. Now we need to get one or two others either through development or trade.
  9. Velasquez gone after the season. Foster is a bubble guy on the 40 man. Not much to choose from with either of them.

Apparently Colas had one robbed last night.

    HR Colas.
  12. Baez has like 50% of his hits this season against us.
  13. Sosa not making plays gonna cost them.
  14. Sosa really expanding the zone. He keeps swinging at anything round, he literally has no chance. He made his leap in AA in part because he tightened his zone. Hope he figures it out in the majors.
  15. Or the Tigers are not a good offense.
  16. Why did Sheets hit for himself there?
  17. Am I the only one who wants to call Menechino "Menechino" out of respect for the only Sox employee who should ever be called "Frank"?

My point was just players say there is an adjustment to the mlb ball, how it breaks etc. Colas may benefit from exposure to it.

Yes. I believe they use the minor league ball through AA, but then the MLB ball in AAA. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/four-perspectives-how-do-mlb-and-milb-balls-differ/

Wilber Sanchez sent down to ACL? I know Atwood has been hitting, but he’s like 24 in lo A.

Good job so far by Charlie Romero at Birmingham. First Sosa, no Cespedes, really improved their plate discipline. And he certainly hasn't screwed up Colas.
  22. Currently Colas is at #99. Hard to see how some of these guys *cough* Brennan Davis *cough* are ahead of him, but BA is stubborn when they've been wrong on guys. https://www.baseballamerica.com/rankings/2022-top-100-prospects/

He’s not a center fielder, but he’s certainly a serious cut above Eloy, Vaughn, and Sheets. True right fielder with at least a 60 arm.
