  1. Yohemy Nolasco in. Looks really good. Smallish frame but quick arm.
  2. Schultz done 2.1 1BB 5K 4H, zero of them hit hard, 53 pitches. Overmatched no prospects ran deep counts cuz they took everything.
  3. Schultz gives up two weakly hit singles in the second.
  4. Last year's 7th rounder Mark McLaughlin keeps getting absolutely scorched in the ACL. I believe the release watch for him has begun.
  5. ACL in a slugfest right now, losing 7-6. Ronny Hernandez is 3-3. Left-handed hitting catcher who was good in the DSL last year. I think he is officially on the prospect radar.
  6. 2024 is considered a down class, one of the worst in a while. On the Future Projection podcast they said they had trouble thinking of anyone who's separated themselves from the pack. The college class is heavy on 1b and 2b types. Brecht is the best pitcher and he has serious reliever risk. It's early, but this may be a year to hope the Sox pick 7th so they can get into the 2025 top tier which features Ethan Holliday.
  7. In honor of the anniversary, perhaps mods just merge all threads into one mega "Fire Rick Hahn" thread because that's basically what all the other ones boil down to anyway.
  8. Tough game for Nunez 0-4 3K. Probably his worst game this season. Hopefully, it's just a blip.
  9. And... I just read that Cannon has moved to AA. So, maybe they are gonna push him to pitch in Chi sometime in 2024.
  10. Sox pitching drafting/development is a real head scratcher. Take Jonathan Cannon: You go over slot on a guy with limited ceiling, but who’s close to a finished product, great. But when he proves he’s better than the competition at A+, you leave him there. Why? Of everyone in their system, he’s probably closest to being able to survive in mlb, but they’re not pushing him. Draft-wise, they’re desperate for close to the majors college guys, but then they go back to back second rounders coming off TJS. Their timelines are similar to high school guys. I just don’t think this team has a plan short term or long term. if you squint, I suppose you can imagine Thompson and Mena up sometime in the second half of 2024, but they both have serious control issues that threaten their long term viability as starters. This whole org is such a frickin mess.
  11. Another rough outing for Reyes in the DSL. 5bb in 2.2. No reason to be optimistic so far.
  12. No help in AAA. The 2 teams combined to lose 17-0 today. Smoldering crater filled with burning excrement.
  13. I'm leaning towards him and his entire coaching staff being fired. Into the sun.
  14. 4 GIDP, 2 LOB. Jay Cuda, I'm expecting big things.
  15. Grandal getting some much-deserved rest after 2 GIDP, a K, and calling a 9-run gem.
  16. Colas finally doesn't swing at something and it's a fastball right down Broadway.
  17. H ha, I see your point but Padilla or Perez or Luna or somebody could come up and not sport a 14 ERA. Hell, I'd rather see Colome up than this stuff.
  18. At the very least Shaw should be released, right?
  19. Why is Brian Shaw on this team again?
  20. Forget a run, I'm just hoping the Sox can get 1 LOB.
  21. Colas is giving me a sad. He went down to learn the zone then he came up to swing a frickin' everything. I swear to God, if they brought up Montgomery, he would instantly have the best plate discipline on this team.
  22. Toussaint has done his job. He's keeping them out of the game.
  23. Not easy to hit into 3 DP's in 5 innings when you've only had 3 baserunners.
