  1. I don't prefer college guys with his contact issues. Sox are not the org to fix him.
  2. Before we get too excited that this club has turned the corner keep in mind they were one pitch away from losing on Saturday and Sunday's starter, Koby Allard, just went on the 60 day IL. So they can pummel injured pitchers. Unfortunately, the Mets and Twins aren't that good either. I hope to God they are not dumb enough to keep this team together if they happen to have one decent road trip.
  3. He did. Maybe they're hosting a rookie mini-camp there. They have done that in previous years at Birmingham. There's no way he starts his career in A ball.
  4. Wolkow is practically an international signing - $1 million, 17 years old. Gonna take a lot of development and may never get out of complex league, but I think it's an interesting upside play. Will be fascinating regardless of outcome.
  5. DSL suspended due to weather. ACL ended early due to weather, won 5-1. Burrowes 2-3, 3b 2 sb. Ronny Hernandez 2b, Guariman 2-3.
  6. Cleveland smoking the Pirates. That's a team that has fallen off a cliff. Seems like the Sox caught a lot of teams during their hottest stretch of the year. Even Tampa has come back to Earth in the last few weeks.
  7. BA has their 2024 top 100. I am Team Bazzana if the Sox get the top pick. Please no to Honeycutt. https://www.baseballamerica.com/rankings/2024-top-100-draft-prospects/?utm_source=Newsletter&utm_medium=email
  8. Baseball draft is all about leverage. Taylor was a draft-eligible sophomore, meaning if he didn’t get a number, he could go back to LSU next year. Gonzalez was a Junior. If he didn’t sign, he’d be lowballed next year as a senior.
  9. Adisyn Coffey gets out of it with minimal damage in his AA debut. 13-2 now. Thompson 5IP 3H 2R 2ER 6bb 4K, honestly should have been worse.
  10. Birmingham is leading 13-1, another relatively good start for Thompson, but once again at various times he loses all ability to throw strikes. 4 walks in one inning led to their run and now he's just walked the first 2 guys in the 6th. 6 bb in 5IP is not going to cut it.
  11. Is Scholtens officially a reliever now? So their starter depth is Touki and ???
  12. Despite the granny, W-S lost because of three unearned runs last night then 4 walks as soon as the game resumed. Gosswein is not going to make it.
  13. Compare the games played by TA, Moncada, Eloy, and Robert to the top of the Braves line up. They play every game, probably why they're in first.
  14. Sheets continues his bad luck. 105 off the bat.
  15. I am counting the days until I no longer have to watch Grandal.
  16. I see your point, but I think they have to work him up to 85 pitches before they consider moving him. At this point, it’s like he’s pitching in an all star game every week. Let him go through an order 3 times at least once just for development purposes.
  17. Sox have a Draft Tracker. No one has signed yet. https://www.mlb.com/news/white-sox-2023-draft-signings-tracker
  18. Birmingham wins in the 11th. Cespedes threw out a guy at home to key the victory.
  19. An example of the risk involved in drafting TJS guys: Connor Prielipp is scheduled for another UCL surgery. Having one repair is no longer a guarantee you won’t have another.
  20. Lotta luck against the Barons in the 9th. 2 straight super weak infield hits and an error ties the game.
  21. Gil Luna pitched well for the Barons 1.2 1H (infield) 1BB 3K. For some reason they took him out with 2 on 2 outs and a lefty coming out for a right handed. Stivors immediately gave up both inherited runners. Deserved a better fate.
  22. 2 rbi double for Popeye. 3-5, HR, 2b, 3 rbi.
  23. A couple of bleeders then a long double was the story. As indicated by the 3 walks his command was not sharp. Yoelvin Silven got lit, but the Barons have stormed back to tie it 6-6.
  24. I think it’s a little better than that. The pitching in A ball looks pretty good. Schweitzer’s defense let him down tonight, but he had a good debut in A+. Nolasco has also been let down by the defense, but he has looked very good in relief of Schultz. They just don’t have many position players.
