  1. Weird inning for Mason Adams. Struck out 3, but hit a guy on a 1-2 pitch, then gave up a double off Elko's glove.
  2. I've heard good things about that Robert kid.
  3. Any sore elbow has to be considered serious for Clevinger considering he has had TJS twice already.
  4. Oh, his time will come. Sox are set to trade or DFA about half of the 40 man by September. They may break the all time record for most guys on the 26 man roster.
  5. While admittedly terrible, Lopez in the 2-hole is just as bad and may be worse cuz it proves Pedro has no clue about what sort of hitter should bat 2nd.
  6. I have been low man on Burke for quite awhile. When he was first hurt, he was a top prospect for them Now he has been passed by like ten guys, including the entire 6 man rotation in AA. If he is going to be a part of any future Sox rotation, he has to start performing almost immediately. He’s an up and down guy for me, probably a reliever.
  7. I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of guys get promoted directly from the Barons to the big leagues. Sox are going to trade everyone with value and release a bunch of guys without value. Might as well see Montgomery, Baldwin, Ramos, possibly even Gonzalez vs. Lopez, Mendick, Remillard, DeJong et al. I don’t think the Sox like Charlotte from a developmental aspect. But I could be wrong. It will be interesting to see if they let Maldonado hit .086 all year long. If not, maybe Quero comes up. Eder and Iriarte are already on the 40 man. Bush is going to have to be protected this winter. I could see Thorpe and Adams suffering through Charlotte cuz neither is Rule 5 eligible this winter.
  8. Still no Mogollon or Wolkow for ACL team.
  9. Drew McDaniel is getting lit up in the second inning of his first A+ start. 4 runs in the second, still nobody out. Dash trail 4-3.
  10. Old friend alert: Luis Mieses just hit a double for Hickory. Eventually, he's gonna go back up to AA. Still only 23.
  11. I wonder if Shuster is gonna get a chance to crack the rotation after they trade everybody. I think he has earned a shot.
  12. Arxy Hernandez is not that heralded yet, but after a tough April in which he jumped from ACL to A ball and had to man ss, he has been quite good in May. Along with Ronny Hernandez, and Burrowes, they have some younger guys at the level to watch.
  13. I wonder if Pedro said what he said yesterday so that he could say, "they gave a much better effort today" in the inevitable loss.
  14. The White Sox are giving heavy playing time in the infield to Lopez, Mendick, Remillard, and Dejong. Montgomery slumping is still better than at least three of those guys right now. If he heats up, he's better than all of them. Now, is it possible he's not the hitting superstar the Sox desperately need? Absolutely. Always bet the under on every prospect. There's a reason they're not called "sure things."
  15. At some point, we have to understand that the roster is horrible AND Grifol is a terrible manager. He finished 20 below with a team that had been :500 the year before, and now is headed to the worst record in franchise history. Just because the person they bring in won’t win the division doesn’t mean you keep this guy.
  16. Charlotte, Birmingham, and Kanny all win. Both Birmingham and Kanny had big innings late to put games away. Stars included Tatum with aHR, 2b, 4 rbi. Both Baldwin and Gonzalez went 2-5. Arxy Hernandez went 3-5, HR, 3b. He is starting to hit as a 20 year-old in Lo A. Might be worth watching. Birmingham swept a 6 game road series.
  17. Cannon has given up only 1 hit through 5. Only 2 Ks, so he's having some batted ball luck, but still... good outing so far.
  18. Mogollon was pulled from a game last week. I think after a HBP.
  19. In the most recent Future Projections Carlos Collazo asked Ben Badler about him. A, it was clear Badler has not seen or even heard of his swing change, B, Badler said he is not under consideration for the Top 100. Interesting considering just how bad multiple guys in the top 100 have been, including Matt Shaw and Tommy Troy.
  20. Keener had a good start 5.2 2H 0R 0ER 3bb 9K. Sox have tremendous pitching depth. What a difference a couple of years makes.
  21. bb, defensive indifference, blooper. Iriarte gives up the first run of the game. Barons still lead 7-1.
  22. In ACL, 2 HR for Angelo Hernandez. That is 3 for him so far. He was a big money guy out of Venezuela, so he may be a name to watch. Grant Taylor has struck out 5 of the 10 men he has faced. Seems too polished for Lo A, but innings are the only thing that matters with him.
  23. Kanny up 11-0 so far in the 3rd.
  24. Wolkow out of the line up again for ACL Sox. I assume he is dinged up.
