6/22 Games
Neither Montgomery or Ramos is in the line up tonight for Charlotte. I assume a scheduled day off for both.

Cannon also has a win

Lotta soft contact which is his brand. Strike percentage has to improve against better offenses though.

The jump from AA/AAA to the majors for hitters has never been steeper. Especially for mid-level prospects.

How much is a guy like Fedde worth in a trade?
The Sox 40 man is pretty much garbage, but they are headed to a crunch soon. I say if you target who is on a 40 man, you have to be confident they will be ready within a year or they could be part of the DFA-orama that is this current squad. Otherwise, take the guys you do not have to protect.

2024 - MLB Draft Thread
I think you can't save him for high leverage. You'd have to keep him on a regular schedule and use him as something akin to an opener, probably piggybacking him with a starter. It could look like a permanent Noah Schultz situation. OR He's a DH and therefore can warm up during an inning and be brought in to pitch relief. In that scenario, he never plays the field.

6/19 Juneteenth matchup: Enron Astros @ Exelon White Sox - avenging 2021
Just turned the game on. Seems like a weird one. Astros Babip is over .500 (7/13). Kinda crazy.

6/16 Sox @ D-backs 3:10PM CT
I feel for Kuhl and his wife, but he was never particularly good. What the Sox were thinking when they added him to the 40 man, I do not know. He'll probably have to wear it today, which is unfortunate.

Can I blame Maldonado's fingers?

6/16 Games
Schultz done 4IP 3H 2R 2ER 0bb 7K 1HBP. Only one ball hit hard the whole outing. He has yet to walk anyone in AA.

6/16 Games
Elko is 3rd in the Southern League in HR with 6! Hard to gauge much about power for position players or how many HR pitchers are going to allow in a league like that.
-
6/16 Games
Schultz gives up 2 in the first. HBP, seeing eye single, bad throw by Burke gets runners to 2nd and 3rd, then a hard single by Jacob Berry.

Shultz starting game 1.

Barons up 5-0. Big double for Elko.

Another hit for Gonzalez. 2 bullets so far.

6/14 Games
Double for Gonzalez, HR Quero. 2-0 Barons.

6/14 Games
Montgomery K'd in first AB, as well. Pallette lets the first two guys reach in his start and Taylor is out for Kanny, so it looks like a bullpen day for them. Vail takes the ball first.

Jose Abreu Released
Is the Rate constructed on a radioactive waste dump or an Indian Burial Ground or something? It’s not just the guys they kept who sucked. The guys no longer with the team suck too. ReyLo is like the only one who escaped the curse.

Kopech drawing "plenty of interest"
Levine is always wrong about the Sox, so there’s that.

Pham returns, Kuhl recalled, DeLoach and Leasure to AAA
I understand why they may want to send Leasure down. Maybe they are gonna rest him. Maybe they have spotted a mechanical flaw they want to correct. What I will never understand is why Chad Kuhl? He has been pretty bad at Charlotte. The underlying metrics are worse. He was horrendous with the Nats last year. Are they trying to lose every game they have a lead in? Plus, I bet he’s out of options, so to send him down is yet another DFA. I would rather see Cousin, or Coffey, or AHT. At least they could be up and down guys.

Story on Sox trade possibilities...
Say what you want about Hahn, that Eaton deal is the deal that keeps on giving. He turned Santiago into several positive season of Eaton (plus one epic fight). Then he turned Eaton into several good years of Giolito, some good times with ReyLo, half a season of Dunning, then Dunning into Lance Lynn then when it's all going down he turns the refuse into Quero, Bush, and at least partial credit for Leasure and Nastrini. Even if all three pitchers end up in the 'pen, this is a win.
