  1. Interesting end to the ACL game. In extras, with the tying run on third, Wolkow was intentionally walked to get to Edrick Felix, a player who is 5 years older. Felix grounded into a DP to end the game. I think other teams view Wolkow as a threat. Would be huge if he works out..
  2. I would not draft a college 1b. It’s not just Vaughn and Torkelson. There’s also Pavin Smith, Nolan Schanual made to the majors but he’s not gonna be an impact bat. Jacob Berry looks like a bust. Remember Michael Toglia? Cuz I don’t. First rounder out of UCLA. How about Logan Davidson? May I interest you in Seth Beer? Point is, college 1b is a risky demo. If the Sox believe Cags can play a corner of, I would be better with it. Personally, I want someone who can at least start up the middle when picking 1-5. But I will admit, Sox do need impact bats.
  3. Barons win it in extras after losing 2 in extras last night. 9-8. Tatum got the big hit, but Elko was star of the game. Gonzalez 1-4. Baldwin had the night off.
  4. Mogollon HR. 1-3 2K. Wolkow 2-2, 2 infield, bb.
  5. Mogollon and Wolkow both in the line up for ACL.
  6. Kanny put up 6 in the bottom of the 1st. They lead 6-0.
  7. Toussaint, Iriarte, Schweitzer, and Batista tonight.
  8. Maybe. But his change up is crazy good. It's an odd profile and I prefer hard throwers myself, but you can't argue what he has done in AA. He's the most dominant pitcher in that league.
  9. He misses plenty of bats. He's probably a number 3-4 starter. He lacks the upside of Schultz, Taylor, and Iriarte, but he has a high-probability of starting in the majors. If he was a sure ace, he wouldn't have been traded twice.
  10. I am team Sergio Santos. Also, they need to find a Brian Bannister for hitting. You look at how smart teams like the Brewers improve their scrap heap guys and you think the Sox have got to be better.
  11. Is the corresponding move reinstating Robert? Seems too early. Is Shewmake about to get 3 more days of big league meal money? Selfishly, I wanted Ramos back at Birmingham to lengthen out that line up. Now, it's likely Sosa goes back to 2b unless his assignment to the taxi squad is something serious.
  12. Barons get swept. 5 walks in the 7th and 1-15 w/RISP kills them.
  13. Barons bullpen walks 5 batters in the 7th. Tied 2-2.
  14. Tatum got hit on the head, but he's staying in the game.
  15. Bases loaded against Kanny too. Every team is struggling. Barons fall behind 2 in the 8th. Caleb Freeman did not look good. Charlotte gave 4. W-S gave up 6. Kanny gives up 1.
  16. Relief is gasoline, including a HR from old friend Mieses. MacDougal ends up giving up 5ER in 5IP. deserved a better fate.
  17. The wheels fell off for MacDougal in the 6th. Single, double, walk, walk. Leaves with the bases juiced. The opponents have the bases loaded in three of four games right now.
  18. Charlotte has gone through 6, they are getting perfect-gamed.
  19. Baldwin walks. Missed a HR foul by about 3 feet. He's just good.
  20. Hoopii-Tuionetoa looks pretty darn good. Easy 95 fastball, slider is his best pitch. MacDougal off to a dominant start for W-S 3 innings 5K 27/36 for strikes.
  21. Nice recovery for Bush. 5IP 4H 3R 1ER 3bb 7K.
  22. Baldwin continues to crush it. 2-2, hard single, hard oppo double, great play to start a double play at 3b.
  23. Ky Bush has been super unlucky so far. Struck out the first 2 guys, then consecutive errors, a passed ball, then 2 singles. Then a strikeout. 2-0 Rocket City.
  24. They are approaching use it or lose it on some of these players. Norby and Beavers for sure have no place to play. Trading them for pitching with 6 years of control would make sense. Otherwise, they are going to find themselves in a Michael Busch situation. I can see them asking for someone who is further from 40 man protection, but eventually they are going to have to deal with their surplus.
