Birmingham's bullpen has had a rough series. Luna cost them a game by walking 3 guys and then Adler walked in 2 runs. Now Dalquist walked the bases loaded and Adler just walked in a run. Hard to watch.

Sox have won 3 of 4 MiLB games so far. Barons leading 2-1. Gonzalez looked like he had a long HR wrap around the foul pole, but it was ruled foul. He then struck out. Quero and Baldwin with two hits each. Mason Adams has been very efficient through 6.

This was inevitable from April of 2023. I guess they could have done better on scrap heap additions like Milwaukee did, but the overall talent in the org was so bad that once the rebuild failed, there was nothing. I think next year is going to be just as bad. Maybe Getz is terrible, but short of naming Angels in the Outfield as the new GM, they were gonna suck. This level of suckitude was achieved with the help of injuries and Getz’s curious decision to keep the worst manager of my lifetime. Maybe he gets a F for that, but there was only so good the roster was ever gonna get.

Following this team is giving me a sprained middle finger.

With Montgomery, Robert, Colas, Ramos, and DeLoach I think Charlotte may have a better line up tonight than the Sox. Grant Taylor up to 5K through 3. He's looking really good.

Crazy outing so far for Burke. Through 2, 6K. Really good control except when it completely leaves him. 2 walks on like 10 pitches, otherwise pounding the zone. Tough to know what to make of it. He's 94-97 with a lot of life on the fastball. Change is better than I remember it.

I feel like the next two stud pitchers for the Sox are Schultz and Taylor, which is why I would be open to trading some of the other guys to get some bats. Is that crazy?

I think Pallette had more draft hype than Taylor, but his stuff never bounced back. A lot of the Taylor hype started in minor league spring training.

I actually like giving him his (final?) shot. Sosa and Ramos have similar pedigrees. The difference between the two is largely that Ramos controls the zone better, while Sosa has had more minor league success. I am not optimistic that Sosa's gonna break out. It feels like he adjusted his swing too well to Charlotte and now hits a lot of medium fly balls to RCF that would be out in Charlotte. But he is on the 40 man, and they have a looming decision to make with him as those 40 man slots may become important as the Sox try to bring up a lot of guys from Birmingham.

There have not been the same high-profile TJS this year as in the past two years, but there has been a lot of underperformance from guys like Ben Hess, Josh Hartle, and Jonathan Santucci. I could see the Sox going after someone from that demo. Personally, I would HS pitching with that second pick. It's a deep demo in this draft and I trust our pitching development.
