  1. Keuchel gave up 5 earnies in 4 innings. He may not be the answer for the Brew Crew. Fedde would be a good get for them.
  2. Sox will get slot value for the 10th pick but then slot value for the 1st pick in subsequent rounds.
  3. The whole team has been slumping, Gonzalez most of all. A lot of it is batted ball luck as his K rate has not jumped or anything. The offensive environment in the Southern League is really rough, so when you’re not swinging it, you can get buried.
  4. Baldwin starting tonight in LF. They are serious about the versatility thing. First outfield start in a long time, not just this year.
  5. 4bb in 2IP so far for Burke. Somehow, they haven't scored.
  6. Those would not be bad deals for the Sox. Personally, I think Basallo’s bat is pretty far ahead of his glove and that he ends up at 1b. But a lot of good gets in those packages.
  7. Yes to Clifford, who the Sox apparently liked in that draft. Personally not a fan of Gilbert.
  8. I have watched Termarr Johnson play A LOT. He walks. That is his only skill. He was supposed to be a 70 hitter. Thus far he is nowhere near that. He's 2b only and subpar there. You need an aircraft carrier in return for Robert, not a multitude of questionable guys. Why make this trade when you can just draft JJ Wetherholt? Hard. Pass.
  9. I think Beavers may be a realistic target, but I think the O’s are reluctant to do anything but win trades. I just don’t see them as a match for any of the Sox assets, sadly.
  10. Mike Boeve is a super polarizing player. 60 hit 40 power 40 speed 40 arm. Tough profile for a regular as his entire value is tied to babip. People who criticize Jacob Gonzalez’s impact haven’t seen nothing yet. I mean, if they keep deadening the ball, I suppose the profile plays better as an extreme contact guy. I just hate watching station to station, all singles offense. But with that good of a hit tool, you could imagine him figuring out a way to hit 20 HR.
  11. Wilbur is no relation to either Yolbert or Yolmer.
  12. Wilbur Sanchez and Sprinkle are both plus defensive shortstops. Up until now they have not been plus hitters.
  13. Neither Montgomery or Ramos is in the line up tonight for Charlotte. I assume a scheduled day off for both.
  14. Lotta soft contact which is his brand. Strike percentage has to improve against better offenses though.
  15. The jump from AA/AAA to the majors for hitters has never been steeper. Especially for mid-level prospects.
  16. The Sox 40 man is pretty much garbage, but they are headed to a crunch soon. I say if you target who is on a 40 man, you have to be confident they will be ready within a year or they could be part of the DFA-orama that is this current squad. Otherwise, take the guys you do not have to protect.
  17. I think you can't save him for high leverage. You'd have to keep him on a regular schedule and use him as something akin to an opener, probably piggybacking him with a starter. It could look like a permanent Noah Schultz situation. OR He's a DH and therefore can warm up during an inning and be brought in to pitch relief. In that scenario, he never plays the field.
  18. Just turned the game on. Seems like a weird one. Astros Babip is over .500 (7/13). Kinda crazy.
  19. I feel for Kuhl and his wife, but he was never particularly good. What the Sox were thinking when they added him to the 40 man, I do not know. He'll probably have to wear it today, which is unfortunate.
