  1. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Mar 4, 2016 -> 01:16 PM) That two years is a BIG deal, though. Sure, but if Sale gets 6 WAR per year and Archer gets 4 then they both come in at 24, only Sale's would be bunched up closer to now and he'd win on the present value calculation. Like I said, I can't complain too hard. It's close. Depends how you project them, but 6-to-4 seems pretty reasonable and it's not like Archer is some breakout 24-year-old. He's older than Sale.
  2. Third and final part. Sale at 12, and for once there's a pitcher ahead of him - Archer at 11. Can't get too upset with that given the two extra years Archer's deal has, but still doesn't quite feel right. Sale's just better. http://www.si.com/mlb/2016/03/04/mlb-trade...rankings-part-3
  3. I can see this partially blowing up for a day like the Eaton thing. I can also see nothing happening because it's the cute ol' Cubbies.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 3, 2016 -> 03:47 PM) Sands with two good plays in LF He should be ahead of Avi on the depth chart.
  5. Putnam in now. We've gotten looks at a lot of the MLB bullpen today.
  6. Sands doubles to deep center. Avi grounds out weakly to the right side.
  7. Good play by Lawrie to take third during the hit-and-run groundout to 1B.
  8. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Mar 3, 2016 -> 03:08 PM) Avi finally swung at the 7th pitch he saw of the day. Yup, noticeably working on taking today.
  9. Nice charging play by Frazier on a weak grounder.
  10. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Mar 3, 2016 -> 02:31 PM) Ugh, if $5 million is a stretch then we should've sold off. Like. Upvote. Fav. +1.
  11. Lotsa loud contact against Danks in the second.
  12. Nice highball single by Dioner, Saladino flies out deep.
  13. Latos' health cannot be counted on. Releasing Danks would be silly.
  14. Somebody tell the webcast color guy that Eaton isn't in center. GIDP.
  15. Abreu battles but eventually whiffs on a fastball, Frazier takes the first pitch to the warning track in left. Sox done in the first.
  16. Eaton lines out softly to left. Nicely took a curveball from Kershaw just out of the zone on 0-2. Feels great to be watching baseball! Ahh!
  17. Part 2 http://www.si.com/mlb/2016/03/03/mlb-trade...rankings-part-2 Abreu at 24th.
  18. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 3, 2016 -> 09:53 AM) First trailer for the Ghostbusters reboot is out and I think it looks painfully unfunny. Yeah, that is a rough trailer. Also I glanced at that comment section and it's a s*** show, even for YouTube. Should have known better. Check it out if you wanna feel sad.
  19. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Mar 2, 2016 -> 05:05 PM) Can't argue with that. I just don't think he deserves the beat down, considering the other offensive (and defensive) luminaries on this team. Those other luminaries are either gone now or they make a lot of money, so there's no point in beating our heads against the wall about it. The outfield market was also busier than other positions this offseason, or it seemed that way at least. Perfect storm. He does not deserve to get booed at Soxfest.
  20. Kershaw struggles in big games so we should be able to rough him up.
  21. Everyone here would love to have Semien. You know this deep down in places you don't talk about at parties. The rest of the guys I'll take or leave. I'll keep arguing that Josh Phegley sucks for the rest of my life if I have to. I'll write it on his Hall of Fame plaque.
  22. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Mar 2, 2016 -> 04:39 PM) By the standard that he had a higher walk rate than every starter except for Laroche and Eaton. It was the bench that pulled up the team walk rate. But indeed, when his rate is one of the starter's highest, that explains a lot. That's a poor standard. I would not say he takes walks, nor would I say anybody who walked at a lower rate than him last year took walks, but whatever.
