  1. QUOTE (Dunt @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 01:15 PM) A plastic flask and a bag of your own peanuts really alleviates a good portion of the ballpark costs. Yeah those bags outside the stadium are like half the price and double the size.
  2. QUOTE (gosoxgo2005 @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 01:04 PM) I've been to both home games already. I live in Chicago now, so this summer I plan on going to a game a homestand. It's a 6 dollar trip to and from on the El for me, DIRT cheap tickets, and I'll get a couple of brats. Can do the whole night for like $30 bucks if you don't drink, which I don't on weeknight games. On weekend games I'll spend $100 bucks on alcohol no problem $7 (5 on Sundays) in the corners for the win. If the crowd is under 25.000 they don't check tickets. I've taken advantage of that a lot over the past few years. Plus free parking on a random side street about less than a mile away from the stadium. My trips to the stadium are pretty cheap unless I bring a current girlfriend with me lol
  3. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 12:17 PM) It would be awesome as hell if the Sox swept this series too. All I know is that the fans need to come out and support this team. I know I will whenever possible. I'm usually good for about 10-15 games. Even with a normal job now and no desire to go to weekday games, I still plan on going to around 15.
  4. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 08:05 AM) I'll be pissed as s*** if we get swept by the Rays while starting Sale and Q and missing Archer. Take 2 out of 3. Me too. Rays are bad. It would a horrible feeling to be swept.
  5. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 07:57 AM) The Sox would trade Saladino straight up for Reddick 100% of the time and it isn't debatable. 100% this. Saladino is a backup on this squad. We can find another.
  6. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 07:33 AM) Unless Danks lands on the DL, he will be in the Sox rotation. He will have some really good games mixed with some really bad games, just like he has been doing the last few years. Gonzalez best chance of becoming a Sox full time starter will be next season after Danks and possibly Latos are gone. Sox can keep him stashed at Charlotte until then. That's true. I really hadn't considered that idea. He could be a cheap 5th starter option next season.
  7. QUOTE (Tony @ Apr 14, 2016 -> 04:06 PM) It would have to get really bad for that to happen. I just don't see it, and some of that goes into the loyalty argument with JR. Him being pulled from the rotation is much more likely, hopefully sooner than later. Probably true.
  8. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Apr 14, 2016 -> 01:54 PM) http://www.csnchicago.com/chicago-white-so...-sox-some-point With Latos looking great so far (know he won't be this good all year) and the Sox being pleased with Gonzalez so far, is there any legitimate chance Danks can be cut at some point?
  9. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Apr 14, 2016 -> 02:58 PM) I thought he got DFA'd already? He did and was released but then got re-signed.
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 14, 2016 -> 02:52 PM) Make it a bigger deal. AJP and Flowers, and Beckham for Navarro, Avila, and either Lawrie or Frasor. Don't forget Emilio Bonifacio who was re-signed by Atlanta.
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 14, 2016 -> 12:12 PM) How many runs can Latos give up today before he will be referred to as trash that needs to be replaced? It's amazing isn't it? Just 2 weeks ago (not even) everyone was hating on him but now that he's had one good game against a bad team in a pitcher friendly ballpark he's fine in the rotation.
  12. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 14, 2016 -> 09:40 AM) CF Eaton LF Cabrera 1B Abreu 3B Frazier 2B Lawrie C Navarro DH Garcia RF Shuck SS Saladino I like this. Get as lefty as possible against Santana (minus Rollins being in).
  13. Someone find me a link to stream from at work....and go.....
  14. The only time he ever really hits is when he's fat throughout his career. Anytime the Giants asked to lose weight, he'd come in to camp slimmed down and not hit and then get progressively fatter as the season went by. If he's released and only cost close to half a million, I'd take him
  15. How many times has Duke come in this year, given up a hit or walk to a lefty then promptly removed?
  16. Was not big on Aiken nor Kolek. Not a fan of high school pitchers as first pick. Wanted Rodon and if not him, Nola.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 01:43 PM) Talent evaluation is much easier when you have a few hundred million dollars backing you up, and burying your mistakes. True. And Thompson wouldn't even be up right now if it wasn't for Ethier's injury.
  18. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 11:37 AM) We wouldn't have one of Fulmer/Anderson though, with COL's asking price Yeah and we don't really have many other enticing pieces. Colorado would and should ask for one of them.
  19. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 11:28 AM) But wouldn't we have to give Anderson/something good up for him? That's not a risk I'd like to take Yeah and the only way I'd be comfortable trading Anderson away for another position of need is if Saladino was able to be a great defender and solid hitter. Of course we wouldn't know that til the end of the season and if he was playing everyday. I think it's more likely they trade for Bruce, maybe Reddick.
  20. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 11:19 AM) CarGo is the obvious solution if the team is serious about winning IMO. Just imagine the lineup if he replaced Avi. Eaton Melky Abreu Frazier CarGo Lawrie Navarro Rollins Jackson Hell by the time they trade for him maybe Anderson at short.
  21. QUOTE (hi8is @ Apr 12, 2016 -> 10:26 PM) Call me in four more weeks. Agree. The internal options aren't good, no one better is really available yet. Unless we overpay, we're not getting a big bat until June/July.
  22. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 10:14 AM) Yep. Should be fun regardless, but I already try to avoid April/May night games as much as possible for the sox, hurts to use one on the cubs. I try as well. Easier now that I have a regular 8-4:30 job. Makes me not really want to go out and get home too late for games (live in South suburbs so it's not too bad of a trip but still).
  23. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 10:06 AM) Good f***ing Riddance. This.
  24. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 09:40 AM) Could be worse guys. i have a friend in town and everyone organized to go to a baseball game since he loves baseball. Sox aren't home tonight. Ouch. Well on the bright side you can get drunk and enjoy time with your friends I suppose.
  25. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 07:18 AM) Same with the Hawks game. I'm sure alot of people in the Chicago land area are going to be flipping back and forth. (Sox/Cubs fans, the real diehard Bulls fans.. , Kobe fans, people who do/don't wanna see Golden State break the Bulls 72-10 record, etc. Busy sports day tonight) Going to a bar is ideal for days like today haha I'm sure I'll be at the bar a lot over the next couple weeks/months with friends watching the Hawks and our preference of baseball team sox and cubs. Works perfect with lots of tvs.
