  1. QUOTE (oldsox @ May 9, 2015 -> 10:19 AM) Do I have this right? White Sox want to put Abreu at third in order to get LaRoche's bat in the lineup? Let's start an over/under on how many bunt hits Brewers get. I think they will do this to get LaRoche 2-3 at bats. If there's a pitching change, switch Abreu to first and have the pitcher bat in LaRoche's spot (I'd stick him 5 in these kind of lineups with Avi hitting 4th), pinch hit Gillaspie if that spot comes up again and play Beckham at third hitting 9th. Hopefully Abreu can handle it for 5-6 innings.
  2. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ May 10, 2015 -> 12:01 PM) Yeah, why isn't Micah playing today? Does he really need two games off in a row? He did play yesterday so I would assume its just a routine day off, no matter if he sat out the second game yesterday.
  3. QUOTE (Mike F. @ May 9, 2015 -> 03:54 PM) If this injury is long term, hopefully Rodon takes his place in the rotation. Heck they might as well milk it and put him on the 15-day dl to give Rodon an extended look.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ May 9, 2015 -> 03:49 PM) I'm predicting this is Noesi's last start. He is awful! All it'll take is a great Rodon start.
  5. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ May 9, 2015 -> 03:47 PM) Beck isn't eligible for this game right? No but I expect Carroll to pitch a few innings.
  6. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ May 8, 2015 -> 11:57 PM) Awesome. I'm almost not even disappointed I'm going to be skipping the Cover Your Bases bar crawl in Chicago tomorrow. I'll get to see 2 starting debuts for Sox prospects. Noesi is starting today so only one starting debut.
  7. I think he ends up throwing a lot of pitches (3-4 walks, 6-7 ks) and only goes like 4-5 innings. Gives up 1-2 runs. Like someone else above mentioned, he hasn't started a game since mid-April.
  8. They don't check if it is expected to be under 25k. This is the second year in a row I will be buying cheap upper deck tickets and walking down to the 100 level with no one checking.
  9. Personally, I do not want both Micah and Eaton starting in the same outfield. I'd rather just keep one and move the other. Their skillset is too similar and this team already lacks power (not that Melky has any homers but I'm just saying for now and the long run).
  10. Hedges was promoted by the Padres while Derek Norris himself is doing well. Maybe the Padres are trying to showcase him for a potential June/July deal? If Alexei starts hitting between now and then, perhaps we can see a deal with Alexei and Hedges as the base with other moving pieces since the Padres will likely be buyers.
  11. Beckham if a team wants a platoon infielder or bench depth
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ May 3, 2015 -> 03:19 PM) everyone besides Abreu and Rodon should be available for the right price I would add Sale to the list and probably Q.
  13. At this point, I'm hoping guys like Samardzija, Danks, Ramirez, Cabrera, LaRoche and Beckham (as a bench depth option for a team) make themselves look attractive to teams from now until 7/31. Try again this off season.
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 2, 2015 -> 04:04 PM) Overreaction how? This team was not built this offseason to "possibly" lose 3 in a row on the road to the Twins. Overreacting to Rodon I mean
  15. So do people think Rodon will get the spot start when our guys serve theur suspensions? I think it will be Carroll personally. Rodon I think goes back down to get stretched out when Guerra and Albers are back. Lots of overreaction in this thread.

  17. QUOTE (LDF @ Apr 30, 2015 -> 11:58 PM) the sox can't afford to take a chance that this was a hot streak. lets not put him into a position that if he fails, you may ruin his confidence. lets give him several more weeks and address the question again. is he ready to go to the next level?? Agree. I say give it til June 1
  18. Have to play the guys who are hot. Play Beckham until he cools down.
  19. McCarthy out for season now. Between him, Ryu and Anderson's consistent dl record, maybe they could use a Danks at some point.
  20. QUOTE (Dunt @ Apr 27, 2015 -> 02:12 PM) That Orioles lineup is GARBAGE. Holy s***, I thought the Sox had some problems. Definitely helps that Wieters and Hardy are both on the dl. Edit: along with Schoop had a nice start to the season.
  21. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 27, 2015 -> 08:39 AM) Please let's stop using ballpark factor as if it is meaningful in 2 weeks' worth of games. The effect isn't even all that huge over a full season, let alone such a short sample. Agreed. It's like saying we should be worried about the guys on our MLB team who 0-1 homers. The Cell is very hitter friendly.
  22. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 25, 2015 -> 06:21 PM) I just have a question on callups when Sale and Shark are suspended. Can you actually bring two pitchers up for five days without placing folks on the disabled list? This is not a paternity leave type thing. I thought if they were suspended the team just played shorthanded I don't think they will serve them at the same time.
  23. 14 games in: PA: 57 H: 14 HR: 3 XBH: 5 RBI: 7 BB: 4 K: 17 AVG: .275 OBP: .351 SLG: .490 Obviously a small sample size but a bit of an encouraging start (minus the K's)
