  1. Yeah and based on the deal yesterday, they look more interested in slashing payroll than getting good prospects. Of course, trading Mahle alone, they should get a good return. I was looking to see if they had any bad contracts that make sense to take back in a deal to lessen the return (not that the Sox really make those moves) but that doesn't really work either, unless they want to shed the 1 year/ $8mill owed to Shogo Akiyama.
  2. Yeah hopefully no more of those "Player X is a good fit for White Sox" because that doesn't mean a damn thing and doesn't mean we are tying to get said player lol
  3. Who do people prefer? I like Montas’ 2 years control. Don’t know the cost though.
  4. Offensively, I would say so. If either of Vaughn/Sheets could play average at best defense in RF, we would be fine. Need a real RF.
  5. Ah thanks. I only saw the tweets.
  6. Based on the comments from Rick Hahn, it looks like Vaughn may be ticketed for AAA to start the year. I think I'm totally ok with this because it at least guarantees him every day at bats instead of a weakside platoon and we can gain the extra year of control back. Of course, that can change if he has a better spring than Gavin or guys are injured. Get a RF and you can go: 1. TA SS 2. Moncada 3B 3. Robert CF 4. Abreu 1B 5. Grandal C 6. Eloy LF/DH 7. Right Fielder (hopefully Conforto, maybe hit him 6th against righties) 8. Sheets DH/LF 9. Leury/Harrison 2B
  7. I think he got pushed into the OF because they had Rizzo and Voit getting 1B/DH at bats after July. He's definitely no lock to play OF that much next year.
  8. Yeah it definitely makes it sound like it's one or the other for DH and a RF is definitely added. I'm on board with the reasoning he provided, as long as we add in RF as well.
  9. That would suck. Would rather play him every day (preferably Chicago maybe Charlotte).
  10. Alright Freddie, pick a team so the market can get moving again.
  11. Yeah and how stupid that when Machado signed and they could have turned their attention to Harper, they were just kind of like "meh". Like they weren't just negotiating a similar contract to Harper got.
  12. I still feel like he is going to go to LA (based on nothing).
  13. We all talked about this last year. I think its because all of the $54 mill is guaranteed. Like he doesn't have a buyout. Instead, they can choose to not pick up the option but are still on the hook for the full amount just deferred. So you're looking at is as the full amount split up over the 3 years instead of 4 years. Which then makes you question: if they pick up his option for the 4th year, is the CBT hit $0?
