Yeah I like him for minor depth but still want an MLB right handed 4th OF that can platoon with Colas if he struggles.

More suited for a playoff roster than a season one, but I like it. Can't complain about Billy

Billy has a 46 wRC+ since leaving the Reds.  If we had 27 or 28 man rosters and could use him purely for defense and base-running he’d prove valuable, but entering the season with him as our 4th OF is absolute insanity to me.  He seems like a great dude and had some nice moments for us in 2021, but he be should nothing more than AAA depth.

Not really, but he’s gotten so bad offensively that it’s negating any value he provides with the glove or on the bases.

Now I can get down with this signing. Going to be a sneaky pick up with the new rule changes

With the new base running rules next year... he could be way more valuable than you think as a late PR option.

Hamilton/Reyes/Payton/Haseley…could be worse to choose from for 4th OF’er I suppose. Won’t be surprised if at least 3 are on the mlb roster at some point throughout season

The problem is a 4th OF is expected to be much more than a late inning PR or defensive replacement, especially on this team with an injury prone CF and a rookie RF.

Yep I’d keep him on the roster just for that extra run in the 7-9 innings…PR/defensive sub, I’ll deal with the 0-1 that he gives the team
