This perception in general that you need college to be successful in life also needs to end. Going to some sort of trade school is a good option too.
  2. Wouldn't hate them adding Rosenthal or McGee or someone else in the pen.
  3. Please add as many lefties as you want.
  4. Let's do it: 6 years, $150 mill and hold onto all of our prospects. Add a $5 mill signing bonus and a 7th year option with a $5mill buyout.
  5. This whole summary makes it clear the Sox are the best fit. Offer the deal Springer got and keep the prospects.
  6. He did say over the next few days, and so far: nothing. Edit: if the rumors are true, I doubt he is connected enough to know about a potential Sox/Brewers trade. Seems to be more on the Dominican player side.
  7. Assuming Yelich bounces back closer to 2018 and 2019 (probably not ALL THE WAY back, but better than 2020), they have to be the favorites in that division right? Maybe dealing Burnes is a way they can retool and fill a couple areas of need. For example: say if Madrigal and Cease (or Kopech) were in the deal. They plug Burnes' spot with an MLB ready arm in Cease (extra year of control over Burnes) and add an MLB ready player to the lineup in Madrigal at 2B (likely moves Hiura somewhere else: 1B, 3B, OF, etc) plus another prospect or two. Of course, if they are the favorites, there is also the argument that they could just keep Burnes (making his price higher).
  8. Yeah I'm not really a fan of this move. For what we would have to trade, I'd rather trade for more certainty but that doesn't seem likely. Or just sign Richards or Paxton for one year.
  9. Yeah it sounds like they are trying to sign him as an outfielder/fill-in infielder. I would think a starting middle infield role would be something he would really want. And he can be Anderson's backup at SS.
  10. If they pull this deal off and Madrigal is a part of it, I hope they sign Profar for 2B. Hard to believe that guy is only 27.
  11. The article (or Tweet...can't remember) I saw about the Mets pursuit of Springer said without uncertainty of the DH, they couldn't figure out a way to play Springer, Conforto, Nimmo, Smith, and Alonso every day. Maybe they could use money they could have used on Springer on Bauer?
  12. Lips are locked. Throw away the key?
  13. At the potential cost, I am not that excited.
  14. Lament is also in the rotation. By the time Gore is ready, someone can be out with injury or one of the younger guys can be pitching poorly so that might be an option as well. Still relievers out there they could sign.
  15. He's still penciled into the rotation right now.
  16. Well that would at least place Moose back at his position that makes sense.
  17. Maybe I'm thinking of his 2018 then.
  18. Not if a guy actually wants to play every day.
  19. He did opt-out of the 2020 season if that is what you are asking.
  20. He's been bad and unhealthy the past couple of years. They're definitely not getting much. I think they hold onto him and try to move him mid-season (maybe even as May if he's playing well) to not have to pay the full salary.
  21. Latest update on him said he's looking for 1 year/$15 mill.
  22. Lol I guess I never saw your post.
  23. I'm kind of shocked no one has mentioned Leake until now.
