  1. I would have liked that Matt Moore deal.
  2. I was pro-Pederson regardless if Eaton was here just for the depth and getting Eloy into the DH spot more often (obviously with Joc being primary DH against righties and then Eloy DH against lefties with Engel covering the OF).
  3. I wouldn't mind bringing him back on a minor league deal personally, worth like $2 mill if he makes the team to find out. But I wouldn't count on him for much. Would want to sign another MLB arm + him for depth.
  4. I do agree with this. If Crochet doesn't leave with an injury, he likely pitches 2+ innings, moving everyone else back and Rodon likely even takes the ball.
  5. Exactly. Hard to fix someone who can't even physically stay on the mound.
  6. What bets is everyone planning on doing next Sunday?
  7. I agree. And I can't believe we are this point where are wishfully thinking about guys who are like plan G, H, I basically.
  8. The Sox pretty much have to get creative with a deal if they won't spend top dollar. Maybe they could do a 4 year guarantee with a 5th year option ($10 mill buyout or so to be paid out over 10 years), player opt outs after years and 3, and a signing bonus and include incentives for IP, CY Young votes, etc.? The Nats were creative on a few contracts like the Scherzer one. He got a 7-year deal but it's being paid over the course of 14 years I believe. They should be all over him with basically no market.
  9. I bet Austin Riley goes back to Cleveland in a deal.
  10. If Mets sign Bauer, that would be a fun rotation, especially when Syndergaard comes back. DeGrom, Bauer, Syndergaard, Stroman, Carrasco with Peterson, Lucchesi, and Lugo as depth. Edit: Although on the MLBTR comments of this trade, some Mets fans think this was done to declutter some the starting pitching depth as Matz isn't really needed. But we will see.
  11. The last I read on his over a week ago or so is that he was looking for 1/$15 mill. Guess it wasn't there and he decided to go home. Sucks because I feel he could have gotten it non-Covid offseasons.
  12. The only explanation for why they dish out that kind of money for top closers as opposed to a top starter or position player: pay for a star but not hand out a 9-figure deal.
  13. What mediocre players have people suggested trading him for?
  14. I think my preference is also Marwin (also keep forgetting he is out there. Brad Miller is my next choice.
  15. I keep forgetting he is out there. Even better.
  16. Fuck it. Sign Cruz to 1 year deal with an option, push to deal Madrigal (along with others) as the center piece in a deal for Zac Gallen (controllable for 5 years) but if that doesn't work, offer Vaughn instead.
  17. I think I would be ok with it at that price as well. And if he sucks, you bring up Vaughn. I'm actually surprised he hasn't sign with a rebuilding team yet.
  18. I think I prefer Miller because he can play SS.
  19. Yep. DH who can play 1B, 2B, 3B and get Moncada off his legs more.
  20. Would have been a nice player to have to give Moncada a day off or day to DH once in a while.
  21. Please just sign Bauer. Pleeease.
  22. Maybe they can sign Vaughn to a cheap 7/8 year deal (buyout arb years if it 7 and a year of free agency if it's ? and out him on the roster day 1.
  23. He is literally ranked the #1 prospect at his position lol
