Trading for Lynn and running out Giolito, Keuchel, Lynn, Cease, Dunning and then using the first 3 and then whever pitches the best out of Cease and Dunning is great. Plus health and injuries may come into play. Having these 5 the rest of the way is legit as fuck.

Exactly, if you pick up another starter and Dunning outpitches him the rest of the way, it would be hard to justify giving him a start. He's absolutely taking the ball every 5th day the rest of the season though.

No one is saying we shouldn't give him time or he will never be good. We are talking about this specific season and pitching in the playoffs THIS year.

If he does, lets hope we are up 2-0 or 3-0 in series.

Yeah but in the proposed scenario of us standing pat in the post, Dunning is bumping Cease out of a playoff spot but you need 4 starters and Cease would arguably be in the top 4.
