  1. No. I think Collins is the odd-man out. Abreu DH eventually, Grandal signed for 4 years, and Vaughn is actually a 1B, unlike Collins.
  2. One thing is for certain: Collins is expendable.
  3. Damn. Would have prefered going year to year, 2 year with an option tops. As long as he knows he's mostly DHing after next year.
  4. Yeah I'm thinking Kalhoun is who they sign if they the price isn't right for trade options, which is fine with me if you're improving the rotation with one of the top options, a reliever or two, and maybe upgrade the bench.
  5. If they deal Collins as part of a package for a left-handed hitting RF, I would sign Castellanos to DH.
  6. McCann for 500-550 is not ideal. If the season started tomorrow and Collins was the primary DH, McCann should play a little more often than a normal backup behind the plate against lefties and giving Grandal a day off/a day he can DH.
  7. Yep. 4 deep with Grandal, McCann, Collins, and Anderson.
  8. What it called? Trying to find it on my podcast app.
  9. He was traded as part of a package with Yonder Alonso for Mat Latos. Bad juju. Lol
  10. That and depth is extremely important.
  11. Maybe talked to him to see if he was signable as teams do? That's my guess.
  12. Or since he will be the backup catcher, you stick him behind the plate and give Grandal a half day off at the DH spot. Lot of options.
  13. Yeah I would have preferred a 3-year deal myself but probably needed the 4th year to get it done now. Not going to complain.
  14. Um, think he was joking/making a movie reference?
  15. Based on the Grandal deal, they seem to want to strike quick. What do you think a potential offer out to Wheeler looks like right now? I'm going to agree with everyone and guess 5 years/$100 mill.
  16. Grandal did good accepting a one year deal last off-season. Effectively what, 5 years, 89 mill? Not bad.
  17. I agree with the swing man idea. Smyly, Pomeranz, salary dump (plus interesting enough spect or two) of Rich Hill are some ideas off the top of my head.
  18. You can. Just have them serve at different times. And players brought in this off-season or who were in minors wouldn't be suspended.
  19. Me too. And who knows. They may be. But this tarnishes it for sure.
  20. I mean, the Sox aren't going to sign him (I'd love to come back and eat crow because of this comment 2 months from now lol).
  21. Why not? Colome has 1 year of control and the payroll is so low.
