  1. I'm almost certain the Phils would prefer Machado over Harper. If they did beat the Sox offer and got him, then oh well. Sucks for Bryce then. Phillies would be getting the better player.
  2. So they would stop negotiating with Machado because they don't want to out-spend the Sox offer, but they're going to negotiate and try to get Bryce Harper for likely more? Don't buy it.
  3. Right...why would they stop negotiating with him?
  4. Nice thread name...this thread is giving me a VD.
  5. Cost certainty going forward. I'm sure they're trying to lock up Barrios and Rosario as well. Actually, just looked at Kepler's numbers. They probably could have waited another year to see how he does this year.
  6. If he's in arbitration, they could cut him in Spring Training and only pay a fraction of that like the Sox did with Viciedo that one year.
  7. Not sure they're comparable but I would think Franco would just move into a backup 1B/3B/first man off the bench to pinch-hit type of role until dealt.
  8. I don't even care if we are a safety net for both if it means we still land one of them.
  9. I actually came here to say if they hadn't done those moves, I probably would have been all over him on say a 1 year, around QO amount deal. Before agreeing to that though, I would probably try to lock him in on about 4 years, but it seems he wants more. We'll see what he ends up getting though. Where we currently are in the off-season: no.
  10. Eh he can stretch it to March if he wanted. Spring Training is unnecessarily too long as is.
  11. I just don't see them signing both. One or the other.
  12. Definitely. And if I decide I need to leave, I need to be certain this next job will work out.
  13. About 2 years at my last job. Job before that, it was about 6 months but I have a good reason for that. 3 months in, the company I worked for decided to relocate my department to where the parent company is located in Ohio. Obviously, I rejected that and started at my next job within a month later. I think I am going to work with a recruiter again so that they can find a great fit and should be able to explain my brief stints at that company and my current one.
  14. Alright, for the finance and accounting people, I've been with a company now since mid-July (so 7 months now) and I'm not really happy with the work that I have been doing. My degree is in finance and I'm currently working as an accountant. I'm thinking if I make a move now, I want to switch over to the finance side and look for an analyst role. Thoughts?
