Nothing wrong with asking Abreu what he wants because he's that respected of a player and has earned that right, and if he is ok being dealt, trade him (only if the offer is right) and try to sign him at the end of 2019. I think they would at least have a discussion with what he wants. If he wants to play for a winner, deal him if the price is right. You can try to sign him after 2019 if they want.

Agreed. 3 months of Kopech on the mound this year for a team not going anywhere vs. close to a full season of him pitching in 2025, in our competitive window (if most goes according to plan)?

For what it's worth, people have penciled in Palka and Davidson into the future starting lineup at some points this year only for them to come back to earth.
