  1. I think they took him for a potential bullpen role later in that year if they were still competitive late in the season.
  2. Worth the risk. They needed to rebuild.
  3. More than 1 1B makes it. Having said that, we all need to vote as many times as we can for him to start.
  4. They're a big market team. Just operate as a mid-market. But just because they operate as such, doesn't make them that.
  5. I mean, Steve Stone isn't wrong. The Sox are in a big market.
  6. The reason guys like him bounce around a lot is because teams think they can sneak him through waivers without getting claimed and the player ends up getting claimed.
  7. Exactly why you don't fall in love with players or predict the draft over a year in advance.
  8. The only reason you would is if the game is sold out and you couldn't get anything down low.
  9. No? How would they possibly know.
  10. McMahon has been hitting better since coming back to the majors, but they have him at 2B right now. I could see the Rockies try Hanley at 1B for the league minimum for a while.
  11. They had some bad teams in the years they were "going for it" as well.
  12. The only reason they close it off is if the attendance is over 25k so its not overly crowded trying to walk around. So basically, only a handful of games when you need to worry about that. But either way, you can get to the Craft Kave when the lower level isn't open anyway.
  13. I don't believe it is voided if traded. It is definitely voided when he is a free agent however.
  14. Yeah if they were to sign Hanley, it would pretty much be to see if he can get hot over the next 2 months and you would trade him. If he sucks, you cut bait. Personally, I'd rather just play Davidson and Sanchez every day (unless Sanchez were to see time in the OF as someone on here speculated/posted about).
  15. DFA Garneau and sign some random free agent catcher to a MiLB deal to make room on the 40-man. Or pick someone out of Volstad, Infante, Minaya to dfa.
  16. They definitely like having a few guys in the pen that can throw a few innings since the rotation is young.
  17. I will fight you! But yes, the re-cut was awesome.
  18. And looking at Turner's Mets' numbers, dude was actually hitting when he was on the bench, blocked from a starting role.
  19. Literally no one wants to trade him because of his age. The main reason is about flipping him for more prospects. I think most, if not all, say we should only deal him for a high price OR extend him for an extra 2 -3 years beyond his current contract/control (OR even trading him and signing him after next year if he becomes a free agent). You have become so laughable on this board its amazing.
  20. Did anyone read this and think "wow...none of this relates to Saladino at all other than his age." Greg, Saladino is not a good hitter. Sure, he's having a good stretch but most players will go in hot and cold streaks.
  21. Was going to type a response to Greg...but what's the point.
  22. I would gladly take the "one and done" if it also meant watching competitive and post-season baseball every year.
