  1. I remember a lot of people said he sucked those years he was with the Mariners. But looking back at it, his numbers weren't bad. Crazy how he only signed a 5-year deal (worth $68m) coming off his monster age 25 season in free agency.
  2. I can say that about any of the movies honestly.
  3. That doesn't really matter if he's getting paid the same.
  4. Um...what? Not a lack of thought. We just think the idea is plain stupid. And it is. You don't rush guys to the big leagues just to make the season "interesting." In fact, I think most would prefer they kept them down in the minors until you know, they're actually ready to play? And in the meantime, sign guys to 1-2 year deals with the idea of flipping again.
  5. Not sure. Anyone have eyes on Hahn?
  6. Eh really depends on how similar the offers are too.
  7. I doubt Haniger gets moved. Controllable for 4 more years and good.
  8. I don't think they really care much about it. They stayed under last year to likely spend this year.
  9. Because they're not spending the money on Corbin it would seem.
  10. Because he's not good? He's terrible defensively around the infield and we already have 3 guys better between 3B, 2B and SS.
  11. Santana is a good player. It's not a terrible idea when you're also considering talking about other players for around similar money. Hoskins was a disaster in the OF last year and that's more of the motivation for moving Santana so that they can move him back to 1B. With the Phillies having so much payroll flexibility, they might be willing to eat some money honestly. They shouldn't need to trade a high regarded prospect with him to get rid of him (not that that happens often anyway other than a couple occasions).
  12. Not hearing anything about this trade prior to entering this thread, I was so confused. My first thought was: "who the hell is Diaz?" Then after a few comments, I figured out he was a position player. So then I thought: "Oh he's a position player....who the hell is Diaz?"
  13. He said he was completely burned out in the post season....that's just not true.
  14. ....Nate Eovaldi? The guy with a 1.61 era, under 1 WHIP and only 3 walks in 22 IP this post-season was burned out?
  15. Sox have shown interest in Eovaldi. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018/11/nathan-eovaldi-drawing-widespread-interest.html
  16. Yep. It's more about opening up 1B than it is money.
  17. It's not opinion. He clearly threw out some facts in his stats.
  18. Pretty good platoon between him and Moreland. And it's not like he's just a 1B.
  19. I wouldn't be shocked at all if the Cubs are discussing a deal with Harper.
  20. How many contracts do the Cubs have coming off the books in the next few years? Off the top of my head 1 more year of Zobrist and Q, 2 more years of Lester and Chatwood for sure. I think they move on from Russell personally saving a few million. Schwarber I also think is a trade candidate that will save a few mill. They may be willing to go over for a couple of years. Who knows.
