  1. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 28, 2016 -> 08:17 PM) Just run into one, Todd Considering that's all he does, we have to hope for it.
  2. QUOTE (JLarucci23 @ Jun 28, 2016 -> 08:03 PM) Why wouldn't Eaton lay a sacrifice down there? Didn't see it. What was the exact situation?
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 28, 2016 -> 08:05 PM) Cubs already said they won't do that I think I read they wouldn't do it for Chapman. But 2.5 years of Miller may be enticing especially since Schwarber doesn't really have a position anyway.
  4. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jun 27, 2016 -> 04:33 PM) They have Sanchez and Leury in the middle infield. I guess they'll figure out a spot - Charlotte MI has been crowded for most of the last several years, and it works out Peter is a guy they've been playing all over it seems. Maybe he can be our version of Ben Zobrist one day (everyday utility player).
  5. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jun 27, 2016 -> 03:44 PM) I agree with you. And as bad as his O is, it's actually improving (slowly). The thing is, he's going to be a Rule 5 guy soon, isn't he. I realize no one would put him on their roster with his hitting in that shape (although with that elite D, you never know with a rebuilding team); but even if not Rule 5, perhaps one of those minor league free agents. Not sure how that works, although I think it has something to do with progression through minors and years. They'd have to add him to the 40 man. I don't think that necessarily means he needs to be rushed to the next level. But yeah there's also the chance no one even claims him.
  6. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 27, 2016 -> 01:04 PM) How do teams score during interleague games? The changing leagues I don't think is as big as some want to make it. I'm sure there is a bit of adjustment, but it doesn't take 70 points off your batting average and cost you 30 doubles. Exactly. It's overblown.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 07:41 PM) They made some changes to Rizzo and Russell IIRC Yeah they adjusted Rizzo's hands and bat movement since he's gotten there. In San Diego, he batted more open and held his hands a lot higher.
  8. Pile on a few more runs and let him finish it. He has an extra day off next time through rotation.
  9. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jun 26, 2016 -> 11:26 AM) This is what I was trying to explain in a different thread, but Y2Jimmy and a few others didn't get what I was saying. He doesn't have much of any bad luck at all. He just can't make solid contact consistently enough for that BABIP to go up. I also think he's quite overrated defensively. He's ok, but not as good as I thought he would be. But much better than we've trotted out there in recent years.
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 26, 2016 -> 08:14 AM) If they hit 7 homers today, I think they will win. Haha I was at the game yesterday. Even though it was hot and I expected them to lose after the first inning, I enjoyed seeing all the homers and offense.
  11. First ever GameDay thread created! Let's win this boys.
  12. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 05:30 PM) Buehrle at this very moment would still be better than Purke. Haha let him get a few beers in him, sign him to an MLB deal, and let him pitch out of the pen tonight.
  13. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 05:00 PM) David Schuster ‏@Schumouse 25m25 minutes ago Mark Buehrle is here at the ballpark tonight Sign him to replace Purke./green
  14. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 01:29 PM) Probably at least a week away until he gets in a game. Hostetler wanted him to catch his breath a bit before picking up a bat again. I respect it.
  15. I don't think he's being literal guys. I think he's saying it's hard to improve it when all he seems to do is homer, K or popout. Meaning he does nothing to really improve his BABIP (by just getting a base hit every once in a while as opposed to a groundout, popout, flyout). Maybe confusing wording on his part but I think understand what he's saying.
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 01:39 PM) He could say he wants to be traded. He doesn't subscribe to the politically correct crowd, so he will say what he means. Eh I guess he could. We'll be seeing what tune he sings in 3 and a half years.
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 12:25 PM) Sale wants to be a White Sox forever. http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/red_sox...ieves_white_sox Has over 3 years left in his deal. What else would he say? Athletes say this s*** a lot.
  18. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jun 23, 2016 -> 11:30 PM) I'd rather he not start. I think what he has working for him is his insane velocity, which could very well be diminished if he has to throw more pitches in a given outing I'd rather they try to make him a starter first.
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 23, 2016 -> 05:19 PM) Why would the Sox take on so much money in Shields who is a No. 5 starter at best in the AL? Because $10 million a year isn't a lot in today's game.
  20. Shields look any different mechanics wise? At work following along.
  21. QUOTE (PolishPrince34 @ Jun 23, 2016 -> 11:52 AM) Profar was the #1 prospect 2 years ago. He's finally healthy and showing all his tools. They will never trade Mazara. Yeah I think Odor/Profar and Gallo is a good start. And then probably 3 of their top 5 prospects.
  22. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 22, 2016 -> 09:24 PM) Well, the Samardzija trade FINALLY paid off in a productive way. Besides Burdi POSSIBLY being the future closer. Don't write him off as a possible future starter yet.
  23. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 22, 2016 -> 09:21 PM) Wow, f*** off Ferrell. How can they review this now? Think that was the ump's call. They have the power to do that.
  24. Just read an article saying Betts should be in a deal for Sale. Finally someone has some sense.
