  1. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 01:59 PM) Either sale or Q, they better get Moncada back. He's a must IMO. I know I've saw people say package could start with Benintendi for Q. No. Starts with Moncada Need both back.
  2. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 12:18 PM) Rangers GM Jon Daniels talked about rentals today for their pitching needs. Seems they dont like the prices of the starters from us or Tampa. What rentals are even out there? Lol Cashner and Hill?
  3. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 04:34 PM) Part of me wants to see Sale and Q not leave and retire with this team So I won't be mad if they stay, even though trading at least one is the smart move Do you expect them to retire in 2019 and 2020? They won't be here beyond those years most likely.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 12:08 PM) You've won the Internet for the day.
  5. Why does Ranaudo come up then? Pitch out of the pen or is he maybe pitching today now?
  6. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 11:55 AM) http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/here-are...ris-sale-trade/ Mark Wrong thread
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 11:59 AM) Sale pitching Thursday So when does the suspension officially start?
  8. So if he's suspended 5 games, that means Gonzalez, Shields, Turner, Ranaudo are in line to face the Cubs? (Pukes on the ground).
  9. Fact or Fiction? Chris Sale pitches in a post-season game with the White Sox in next 3.5 years.
  10. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 10:38 AM) That's kind of what I was thinking. Swihart and a couple lower level guys that they won't miss for a few years, Fernando Tatis Jr types. While also shedding the remainder 2/ $25 mill on his deal? I'd do it.
  11. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 11:17 AM) To me, the only teams with a realistic shot at Sale are the Red Sox, Dodgers, Pirates, Nationals, Astros, & Rangers. The Cubs obviously have the talent too, but don't see us doing a deal with them. Red Sox Moncada Benintendi Devers Kopech E. Rodriguez Dodgers Urias De Leon Bellinger Verdugo Holmes Pirates Glasnow Meadows Bell Newman Keller Nationals Giolito Turner Robles Lopez Fedde Astros Bregman Martes Musgrove Tucker Reed Rangers Mazara Gallo Brinson Ortiz Tate Would be insane to make 2 of those deals moving Sale and Q.
  12. If we accept an offer that involves a team's 5 prospects, it better be Boston. I'd accept Moncada, Benintendi (close to MLB ready), Devers, Kopech and another. And then if this is the case, possibly deal Quintana to the Dodgers for a big package of their guys.
  13. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 12:18 PM) Sale better still be with this team in 2017 as you win with pitching Except us. We actually seem to have better pitching then a lot of teams in playoffs the past few years and we don't even sniff the playoffs.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 11:39 AM) I think an upspoken thing here that could also play in, is Chris Sale a guy who can give you 250+ innings in a playoff push? We may never know if he remains in this uniform. But the way people want Robin to baby him, I don't think he'd be able to.
  15. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 11:38 AM) So serious question: Just how much better than Quintana is Sale? I ask, cause the more I think about this if I'm just trading one I think it would be Chris. I feel the same way. Based on Q making less money and having an extra year of control, they're basically even to me.
  16. I predict neither go anywhere in the next year and they'll retool in the off-season. Maybe they'll look to sign an outfielder (Cespedes, Desmond, Reddick) in the off-season (preference being Reddick if he gets traded and no QO attached). Not saying I'm 100% agreement in this but it's probably the best course to go if you hold onto either Q or Sale. Try to win next year and if results are similar, then tear it down when you could get a more realistic return for Sale and Q.
  17. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 08:25 PM) I'll trade him for Michael Kopech Me too.
  18. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 09:42 AM) Good luck. The problem is Sale's value to the White Sox far exceeds what other teams woul be willing to give up. They will just go down a tier or 2 and save prospects. Levine with hi Soler/Baez for Sale is probably more in line with what the real offers are vs what we all hope. The Sox now are screwed again. If they trade these guys for realistic packages they will get hammered by everyone. If they don't cave in they will be accused of business as usual, with no clue. Just go back a year. They hang on to Shark after a hot streak. Yet according to some with no sources, they could have traded the pending free agent who led the league in HR allowed, hits allowed, and earned runs allowed that would have blown away the value of the comp pick they ultimately received. Sale is like a $50 million house. Yeah you might be worth billions and can afford it, but isn't the $25 million house enough house for you? Especially if you need several houses. There were tweets from insiders saying they had a deal with the Giants lined up but wanted to wait out the hot streak before deciding to trade him. I do get what you're saying overall though. I really doubt Sale and Quintana are going anywhere this year or even in the offseason. I think a year from now is way more realistic as it'll be the final year of "the three year plan" and they will each have a little less control making a deal more closer.
  19. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 09:14 AM) Agree with that. At this point, it looks like Quintana is getting traded if they hear the right thing, and a few other guys. Sale is too valuable to move right now. In my opinion, Quintana should be just as valuable. Owed even less money than Sale and has one more year of control than Sale.
  20. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 11:19 PM) Sale gave a big discount because he wanted guaranteed money in case his arm fell off tomorrow, not because he liked the Sox. Same with Q for that matter. ^this
  21. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 10:18 PM) I hope Robin just starts pulling random players in random innings every game going forward. My refresh buttons wouldn't be able to handle it lol
  22. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 11:01 PM) You know I am not in favor of trading Sale. I am in favor of selling selling. It makes no sense. What you do is keep Sale and Q and Abreu and Eaton and Anderson and absolutley trade everybody else and try again. It's almost too late already. We're waiting too long again this year and I don't like it. With free agency thin, how do you plug all the holes to compete next season while hanging on to them? Trading all the others probably doesn't accomplish that.
  23. You could ask for Russell in my opinion since the Cubs could plug in Baez at short. Maybe a step down but suitable replacement.
  24. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 07:22 PM) LOL Upton is garbage. Didn't want that bum let alone for $142 million He was my second choice out of the big 3 (Cespedes was first).
  25. QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 07:09 PM) I agree. I am very much against moving him unless a player such as Correra comes back in return. That contract is insanely valuable and should drive the asking price up IMO. Yeah. I don't think a team will subtract from it's MLB core during the post season race however. More of a move in the off-season when you can try to plug the hole with a free agent or another trade.
