QUOTE (soxfan85 @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:19 PM) I wonder what the Hawk is doing/thinking right now watching this? Drinking.
-
QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:10 PM) I wouldn't blame Robin if he made Shields go 9 innings tonight. Seriously. Seriously. Let him be his own long reliever tonight.
-
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:06 PM) Did he? Yeah I just double checked baseball reference.
-
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:05 PM) Detroit traded Price for Norris and Boyd. And another guy who's name I can't remember.

Fulmer came from the Mets.

QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:04 PM) Yeah, it took a ton of luck for them to sweep the 19-43 Twins. Think he means we were lucky to face them early on adding to our small sample size record when the season is new and fresh.

QUOTE (oldsox @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:02 PM) Surely you jest. They got lucky with some wins over Minny and Oakland before they came apart like a 29 cent mop. I kinda felt that beginning was unsustainable. All those one run wins, elite bullpen (they're probably not as bad as they are now, but certainly not that good). Latos ended up turning into a pumpkin.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 07:59 PM) The next giveaway night should be paper sacks with eye holes Lol
-
QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 07:58 PM) I do. I wouldn't bet my house on it, but this is a talented team that had the best record in the AL in early May. Throw in the fact that the Royals aren't world-beaters anymore and DET and CLE are good-but-not-great, and I could see the Sox getting hot, winning 92 games and eeking out a division win. That said, I stand by my original prediction of 85 wins and no playoffs. 85 seems very optimistic.

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 07:55 PM) I would rather have Flowers than Navarro. The team misses his ability to call a came and his glove behind the plate. It's almost gotten to the point where I'm saying the same thing.

Are there people here who still think we have a chance this season?
-
Only one who really deserves a job management/coach wise is Herm Schneider.

QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 07:40 PM) This is fun bad. All of it. It's a bad train wreck you can't look away from.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 07:38 PM) This is unreal. On what planet did the front office think Shields would pitch well here Same front office that fans want to lead a rebuild.
-
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 07:21 PM) I am sure he will opt out Let's just hope he has a miserable time here the next couple of months and he decided he would rather leave than stick around for 2 years and get paid.
-
Hopefully he's hurt or something

QUOTE (TomPickle @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 07:12 PM) Welp, I think that's enough for me tonight. I said the same and changes the channel lol

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 06:59 PM) Coats is in there. They are facing a lefty. I don't see how he can be criticized for trying something a little different. I know he's in. I was just taking a stab at a lineup with the current roster (Shuck against a righty, Coats against a lefty). Didn't know the guy on the mound is a lefty though. Thanks.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 06:44 PM) What should the line up be tonight? Man I don't even know haha but if I had to take a stab: Eaton CF Anderson SS (because f*** it) Abreu 1B Frazier 3B Cabrera LF Lawrie 2B Navarro C Garcia DH (if you're going to put him in, DH him) Coats RF(/Shuck against a righty) Glad I'm the one who isn't in charge of writing the lineup. Edit: or 3-5 of Melky Abreu Frazier. Get a good contact hitting up in 3 spot, break up the righties a bit, and the all or nothing guy at the end of the middle of the lineup.
-
QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 05:26 PM) He's had 700+ ML at bats, with an ops below .630. Have you seen JB Shucks OPS this season?
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 05:08 PM) This is why you don't hire former players. First Ozzie canned and hated forever; now Robin. I do agree Robin must go, but it also is sad. Gotta be able to separate the 2 I suppose: Robin Ventura the former Sox 3B great and Robin Ventura the manager.
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 04:40 PM) This guy is 26 years old and a 29th round pick? Doesn't sound too promising to me. Hope he gets a hit soon, albeit he's only zip for 7. You do realize he's still in the lineup right? He was referring to playing the outfield.
-
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 10:00 AM) Except for Thompson, Semien and Anderson. What pitching have we "developed" recently? Rodon had a grand total of 10 minor league starts, that was it. Nate Jones, I guess. But that dates back to 2012, along with Q/Santiago/Santos/Reed. Petricka, if you really want to push the definition. Pssst...players continue to develop in the majors.
-
32 and a 3B. Don't really see a fit here to be honest.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 11:23 AM) Interesting to see Shilds tonight. Hope he brings his A game A-game or a game on the bench for when he's taken out early?
