Definitely. This year is much more in line with his career. You just never know if the added confidence of an MVP award, kinda like Jermaine Dye 2006 after winning the World Series / World Series MVP, helps you put up a big year.
Locked on Sox podcast mentioned that Kimbrel's child has medical issues and that the Cubs really wanted to try and keep him in Chicago so he didn't have to move his child.
Knowing this, I think the Sox will probably pick up that option and not trade him. And that's fine with me. He's really fucking good.
Let's talk about Bryant. It's been awfully quiet on him and hes obviously going to be dealt.
Is a 3rd crosstown trade in the works?
Edit: Traded to Giants.
If he stays healthy he is going to have a great batting average, a modest WAR, and basically never strike out. He will probably be a fan favorite too.
But we got Kimbrel. Still would have liked to see Bryant included somehow.
Of those three, I'd really like to keep Sheets, if possible. I think the guy has legit LH Power potential. But I can't help but feel like the Rays would easily beat that package. Plus, I guess the Cubs already got their 1B of the future when they traded Joc.
