  1. There is NO WAY it doesn't happen. Like, there is no possible way Sally isn't the starting catcher for the Sox next season if Moore/Getz is hired. And they will prop him up as the new Abreu/leader. Same s%*#, different year.
  2. It's why I said yesterday while getting Kenny and Rick out of the org is a good, the only way any of this changes is if ALL 3 are gone. Jerry still being here solves nothing. Getz and Moore? It's a different paint job on the Titanic.
  3. Logic is NEVER something that should be associated with the White Sox, BUT....if Jerry came to the decision Rick and Kenny were not right for this team, why would anyone associated with Rick and Kenny be?
  4. There is no point to get rid of him now. This season is a total waste, and aside from Getz coming in, any outsider is going to see this is a total tear down. There is literally one guy on this roster that could be part of a “good” Sox team in the future. Bring in the right person, let them make all the calls moving forward.
  5. The owner is still in charge….we’ve seen this play out before. I, and every other Sox fan, should wait to see who the hire is before getting excited. This is a good day for the Sox organization, no doubt. But as others have said, if Chris Getz is placed as new President of Baseball Ops, or Jim Thome….we’re in for the same old s%*#
  6. 2 down, 1 to go
  7. And think about how many players have left disgruntled. It's not like he's universally loved by anyone who works for him. He is very, very bad at professional team ownership.
  8. He inherited Jordan, gifted Derrick Rose and was at the helm of one very lucky season in 2005. He is an unbelievably poor owner and the city will be a better place with him out of the picture
  9. I think Rick has done an incredibly poor job and have always said I believe there are GM's out there that COULD operate and win under the restraints Jerry puts on. However, there is zero evidence to tell me Jerry would have the smarts to hire someone like that. So why should we think anything will change if Rick is gone? The new hire will have traits Jerry likes...which should be a huge red flag to every Sox fan.
  10. Spent like $200 as a teenager on a 44 jersey that offseason. Think I wore it twice before it was clear…Billy was not going to work on the Southside
  11. You want to know how low it's gotten for the Sox? I was genuinely happy for Morel and the Cubs there.
  12. Since 2013, only the Rockies, Reds, Detroit and Miami have fewer wins than the Sox, and my guess is the Reds overtake the Sox by the end of the season, as they are only 5 games worse than the Sox during that time. The Angels, A's and Pirates all have more wins than the Sox in the last decade. Royals too. The Sox are objectively one of the worst teams in MLB over the last decade.
  13. This. The logic people use in their argument for bringing Ozzie back makes zero sense. "The White Sox have been bad for so long, and it's the guys running the show for the last two decades that are the problem! You know what will fix it? Bringing someone back from 15 years ago that this current regime hired, and fired..that will solve it!" One manager has had success with this organization in this era, and it was incredibly short lived. An MLB team in 2023 can do much better than Ozzie Guillen as manager. Additionally, and maybe most importantly, the manager isn't going to change things. If Ozzie Guillen, or AJ Hinch, or Brian Snitker or Dave Roberts was managing the White Sox in 2023, their record isn't much different. A manager is not buying the Sox 10, 12, 15 more wins. The roster is flawed, the player development is flawed, the analytical foundation is flawed, the culture is flawed. That starts at the top. It all needs to be started over.
  14. Heard on the radio yesterday by the end of the year, the Sox will have the 28th "best" record in baseball over the last decade, the Royals have a better record over the last 10 years than the Sox.
  15. Ask Rick after the parade
  16. Put even more simply, if the Sox win the World Series in 2021 or 2022 and Lynn plays a big role in it...it's a great trade. Lynn helped them accomplish very little, and in 2023 and beyond, Dunning would be a valuable piece to the organization moving forward. It was a good trade if the Sox could have capitalized on his first two years. They didn't.

    Good luck in 2024 ?
  18. Come on, no one was buying a ticket because they wanted to see Jake Burger.
  19. 0% of the board wants to punt the next 4 years. That’s what you have always failed to understand in your blind optimism of the White Sox. We just have no confidence this front office can put together anything that would be considered a “consistent contender” because…there is no history to tell us they can.
  20. Right, I was wondering the origin. Sox social or somewhere else on the internet
  21. Serious question, does anyone remember where the “TNT” nickname started for Trayce when he was on the Sox?
  22. This alone makes a season long investment totally worth it, especially when you figure there have been two home playoff games in the last decade. Well played.
  23. White Sox Baseball is like having a drunk, abusive father. You’re born into it and really can’t do much to change it. You realize they are never going to change but you hold out hope things will change, and never do. Every so often they’ll surprise you with a good deed, and you think this may be the turning point, but they always go back to their old ways. You’ve given up on them, but deep down all you want is for them to love you back, even though you know it won’t happen. (After I wrote that I realized how dark that was, and thankful my dad has zero of those qualities ?)
