  1. Thanks everyone. I only have one game at this point (MLB The Show 2015), and I love it. I'm definitely going to try and pick up some other games as well.
  2. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 17, 2016 -> 04:08 PM) It will be stages of grief. It will be exciting at first, it could be disappointing at first, but sad will come last. Appreciate the hell out of what he's done and the .gifs of him with a wipeout slider hitting the batter while they swing for strike 3. But, we are where we are. I like this post. Of course I'll be sad once it happens, but the level of sadness depends on who the Sox get in return. If the Sox get Benintendi and several other good prospects? I'll only be a little upset. If the Sox don't get a blue chip prospect at all? I'll be very, very sad.
  3. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 17, 2016 -> 03:23 PM) I think this is basically the wet dream of the majority of us. Let's assume though that it simply isn't possible. Let's say you had to choose between these deals for Sale to the Red Sox and Q to the Dodgers: Sale to the Red Sox: 1) Benintendi/Devers or 2) Benintendi/Kopech/Groome/Swihart Q to the Doders: 1) DeLeon/Bellinger or 2) DeLeon/Barnes/Lux/Puig Which would you choose? The 2nd Red Sox deal and the 1st Dodgers one if I absolutely had to pick, but I don't particularly like any of those offers.
  4. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Nov 17, 2016 -> 12:24 PM) I've pondered where he goes for months it seems like. I was thinking Boston all along but then always thought the Dodgers may pony up and the Sox send him to the NL. However, I think LA trades for Kinsler and the Sox go for Boston's top hitting prospect package. Red Sox: Chris Sale-LHP Nate Jones-RP White Sox: Eduardo Rodriguez-LHP Andrew Benintendi-CF Michael Kopech-RHP Rafael Devers-3B Christian Vazquez-C (I'd take him over Swihart because Vazquez can at least play the position and is really good defensively.) That package seems way too light if both Sale and Jones are included, IMO.
  5. Another Sale thread! How many do we have now? 7? lol

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 17, 2016 -> 09:56 AM) glad to hear No problem. It's such groundbreaking information that I had to tell you.
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 17, 2016 -> 10:16 AM) Yes, but would you really care? The chances of these guys being impact players is beyond small. They won't get you anything in a trade, and are easily to replace with something similar, especially if they are rebuilding. I'd like to see Liriano play a bit. Losing the other two wouldn't be a big deal, but I think Rymer has potential.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 17, 2016 -> 08:44 AM) I started listening to a few different podcasts recently, and listened to the Joe Rogan experience yesterday, and his guests are Graham Hancock and Randall Carlson. Anyone interested in ancient civilizations, comet impacts, egypt, extinction events, you need to listen to this podcast. It is absolutely fascinating I had to do an ancient civilizations project in 6th grade. I hated every second of it.
  9. I still see no way this deal comes to fruition if Swanson is off the table. He's the only guy they have besides Inciarte that I would really want anyway.
  10. The Sox have a lot of fringe guys on the 40 man as of today. They can easily dump a few to make space for players with more potential.
  11. Is this Birenbaum guy credible? I've never heard of him before.
  12. I think what a lot of you guys fail to realize in a Sale trade is that it's HIGHLY unlikely that any particular guy they acquire will be as good as Sale is right now. Take Boston for example. Everyone wants Benintendi, for good reason. Will he be as good as Sale, even a couple years from now? Probably not. Sale has been the 2nd best starter in all of baseball since 2012 and produces ridiculous amounts of WAR year in and year out. With that being said, can the Sox win a Sale trade? Absolutely. The Sox could trade a legit superstar (Sale) for a potential All Star (Benintendi), a well above average third baseman if he pans out (Devers) and the catcher of the future (Swihart). Trading Sale fills 3 holes in the everyday lineup (CF, 3B, C) that have been barren for the most part for years, and that doesn't even consider that they'd most likely get a high potential starting pitcher to take his place (Rodriguez) and a high octane bullpen arm (Kopech). Of course the pitching would get worse short term, but the Sox have shown an ability to develop pitching and they wouldn't be contending in the next year or two anyway if they made this trade. If they're trading Sale, they need to trade for elite hitters. A lot of them. Everyone with the exception of Rodriguez would be controlled through at least 2023, so they could transform the team from being "mired in mediocrity" into a bunch of young, hungry, high potential players with the ability to add a marquee free agent like Harper in a few years if everything goes according to plan.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 16, 2016 -> 09:56 AM) Unless one of them is a star on the level of Sale, it is a failure. The whole idea is to fill a lot of holes. If you have a big step down in quality from an ace pitcher, and only fill two holes, it is a bust. Hypothetically, would you be happy with a Sale for Moncada and Benintendi deal? The Sox would only get 2 guys back for Sale but both have superstar potential.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 16, 2016 -> 09:52 AM) Nope. No catch all. Each rumor gets it own thread. Doesn't each thread devolve into a catch all anyway? I mean we had people talking about the Rangers prospects in this thread that was originally about the Dodgers. It's not that big of a deal I guess.
  15. Would it be possible to merge all the Sale threads together? There's like 3 or 4 different topics relating to him and it's a pain to have to check each one individually. Nothing is concrete at this point so I think it'd be better to have 1 thread dedicated to Sale rumors.
  16. QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Nov 16, 2016 -> 09:28 AM) lol no way we would get all 3 + for anyone. Completely unrealistic lol i think you're wrong.
  17. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Nov 16, 2016 -> 07:40 AM) Goin on in a few with @mullyhanley on @670TheScore in chitown. Talking Sale and sale https://twitter.com/JonHeyman/status/798883154123694080 Can someone sum up what he said when he's done? I can't listen to it right now.
  18. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 10:45 AM) I'm nervous about a rebuild, but I'm ready for a change and it's worth the risk. Well said, good friend. I've already come to grips with seeing Sale in a different uniform. It is what it is. All I hope is the Sox improve from this process.
  19. QUOTE (Username @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 09:52 AM) Ned Colletti was just on MLB Network and said he thinks the Dodgers make some big unexpected splashes. No mention of the White Sox but he's a Senior Advisor to the Dodgers so maybe he knows something. OH MY GOD IT'S HAPPENING!!!!!!
  20. QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 09:24 AM) Dodgers Top 100 players from BA's mid-season list: 24. Cody Bellinger 1b Dodgers Leveraged lefthanded swing produces 30-homer power potential, while his glove draws Gold Glove raves. 25. Jose De Leon rhp Dodgers Limited to seven Triple-A starts thus far, he still misses bats with premium stuff. 44. Alex Verdugo of Dodgers Compact lefthanded swing has movements that tend more toward hit over power, and 20-year-old has .150 ISO in Double-A. 60. Grant Holmes rhp Dodgers Scouts who love him see a future No. 2 or No. 3 starter. Those more skeptical see a power reliever future. 82. Frankie Montas rhp Dodgers Rib injuries have ruined Montas’ season so far. He may not be much help in 2016 but still offers a very intriguing power arm. 98. Willie Calhoun 2b Dodgers Calhoun is proving he can hit. He’s got some work to do to prove he can stick at second base. Holmes and Montas went to Oakland at the deadline for Hill and Reddick.
  21. So we have at least 4 teams that have expressed at least some interest in Sale (Boston, LA, Atlanta, and Washington). This couldn't be playing out any better for the Sox IMO. Keep pinning all these teams against each other and take the best offer.
  22. I can't envision a deal happening here...but I hope the Sox use this as leverage on Boston/LA/etc.
  23. I'm on another forum and some guy just said he wouldn't trade Trea Turner for Sale straight up. Moron.
  24. Baltimore is a perfect fit for him, but they don't have the prospects to get a deal done. So yeah, St. Louis is my ideal destination for him as well. It'd be awesome seeing him terrorize the Cubs 18 times a year.
