  1. Eaton would require a Sale-like return for me to consider moving him. He's immensely valuable and they don't have to move him now if they don't get the right offer.
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 1, 2016 -> 07:23 PM) Merkin thinks 2 of Sale, Q, Rodon get traded. Where did you see/hear/get this information?
  3. QUOTE (bighurt574 @ Dec 1, 2016 -> 12:01 PM) Doesn't sound like Giolito is in play here. Why would he? They'd include in him a Sale trade after this.
  4. I'm excited for Tilson. Even if he amounts to nothing, at least he has more upside than Shuck and will be less of a nuisance to watch.
  5. Surprised no major moves have been made yet. I thought things would've happened quickly once this thing was resolved.
  6. All these new rules are going to take forever to remember, lol.
  7. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 1, 2016 -> 06:40 AM) Dude, you simply need to STFU and leave this board for good. Whether you're a Cubs fan or not, I think everyone here can agree you're condescending as f*** and bring a combative attitude to discussions. You constantly talk down to posters like you are better than them and can never admit when you're wrong (see post above). Do us all a favor and go away. Thirded.
  8. Jonesy, Jennings, DRob, Putnam, Petricka. Sox have a variety of options. I'd love to snag Conforto from them.
  9. Honestly, I think both should be tendered if they trade Sale. They'll have to field a team somehow, and there's a slim chance that either of them could take the next step forward and get flipped for prospects as opposed to being cut for nothing. It's not that much money anyway.
  10. The OP is an interesting character to say the least.
  11. I would be absolutely heartbroken if Christopher Allen Sale ever wore a Cubs jersey.
  12. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Nov 29, 2016 -> 01:35 PM) You're trolling right? Do you remember watching him play? The guy was garbage. Essentially a carbon copy of Avisail Garcia. A couple good years against what is the equivalent of low level MiLB is not going to change that. Why would I be trolling? The KBO, while more hitter friendly than MLB, isn't t-ball. He put up MVP numbers there. Comparing him from 5 years ago to now is ridiculous. A 25 year old with no experience and a 30 year old with plenty of experience are completely different entities. He is worth the $5 million a year gamble and it wouldn't surprise me if he put up really good numbers in Milwaukee. He was the perfect fit for the Sox and they passed on him.
  13. DAAAAAAAANG. That's a lot more than I thought he'd get.
  14. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 29, 2016 -> 10:15 AM) We are talking about DH at bats. Avi may be our DH of future but don't really care if we decide he's done. We will need some major league players on the team next year. This. Avi is what he is and I don't think Coats is anything more than a 4th outfielder. I'd like to give Liriano a shot, but there definitely would have been a spot for Thames as well.
  15. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 29, 2016 -> 09:21 AM) A 30 year old who strikes out a ton and doesn't walk at all? Why? His K and BB numbers were pretty good in Korea, although that league is much easier to hit in. I still wish the Sox would've taken a chance on him though. He's the exact type of player that would be great in a rebuild.
  16. God f***ing damn. I wanted the Sox to sign him so badly.
  17. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 29, 2016 -> 06:52 AM) I'm hoping for a Benintendi and Devers package or a Bregman package. Agreed. Moncada is nice and all but I'd definitely prefer Benintendi over him if I was given the choice. Devers would be a great get as well.
  18. QUOTE (drowninginflame @ Nov 28, 2016 -> 04:34 PM) Folks - keep it about baseball, not your political beefs. That's what arguing on Facebook is for. Also, as far-fetched as the concept is, it's a fantastic ploy - if it was a reality, that gives people reason to take interest in the team on a variety of levels. This isn't just some rich guy buying in to stroke his inflated ego, it's a die hard fan, who happened to be president supporting culture and doing what most dream of. If that isn't a mile marker of what you'd want to see in ownership, you might want to re-consider your opinions on what's best for the team in the long run. Not sure I would consider him a die hard fan. He didn't even know the name of the stadium and I doubt he can name more than a player or two that's currently on the team. I'm not opposed to the idea, but it's not like he's a huge fan or anything.
  19. Sign him to a backloaded 2 or 3 year deal with tons of incentives. There's no risk and the reward is pretty intriguing.
  20. Watch them wait for weeks and then not pull the trigger on anything. That would be so typical.
  21. Sale will be traded in approximately 30,000 minutes.
  22. Great article! Thanks for sharing.
  23. QUOTE (WBWSF @ Nov 28, 2016 -> 07:23 AM) 1) I would trade Robertson for Puig in a heartbeat. 2) Then sign Cespedes. 3) Keep Sale and Quintana and see how 2017 plays out. I don't see how that plan could possibly work because the bullpen would flat out suck.
  24. QUOTE (Ro Da Don @ Nov 27, 2016 -> 11:55 AM) Urias better be coming back regardless. This is Chris Sale we're talking about trading. Even if Sale was making 20+ mil anually the next 3 seasons, Urias better be coming back. Agreed...and if the Dodgers are set on not moving Urias, then the Sox should be able to clean out the rest of their system.
