  1. Really good interview. Kudos to Brian for getting it done. He's one of the best in the business IMO.
  2. I watch every single game religiously.
  3. Won $110 in one league, finished 2nd out of 12 in the other one. Not too bad.
  4. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Sep 23, 2016 -> 09:41 AM) I would be pretty disappointed if it is Rick Renteria or some other old retread (Gardenhire, Washington, etc.). I am not against the Sox going away from hiring old players with no management experience, but its hard not to like the idea of AJ. I think he will be a great manager some day. He'd certainly spice things up. Would you be willing to hire another former Sox player that doesn't have any managerial experience whatsoever? I love A.J., but making him the manager would feel like Robin Ventura 2.0 to me. I don't see him being any better than Robin if he were to manage the team next year.
  5. I wasn't around when Bevington was the skipper for the Sox, but it's hard to imagine that anyone could be worse than Robin.
  6. QUOTE (iWin4Ron @ Sep 22, 2016 -> 10:31 AM) Thread win. "IT'S JOHN CENAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" LMAO. This is awesome!
  7. My vote goes to John Cena. They could play his song every time he goes to the mound. That would be lit.
  8. Honestly, I'd shut every starter down and hope to lose out in order to get the 10th pick. There's nothing to play for anyway at this point.
  9. It seems like Sale loses focus/intensity against poor teams. It's becoming a trend at this point.
  10. I think Renteria would be a major upgrade over Robin. He turned the team on the North Side into a decent team with very little work with. The Sox have much more talent than the Cubs did at that time.
  11. Most likely Renteria IMO, though I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted a former player like A.J., Rowand, Thome, and maybe even Konerko to take the job.
  12. Out of all the problems the Sox have, Adam Cory Eaton isn't one of them. He's one of my favorites because he always gives everything he has on a particular night. To say he has no desire to win is ignorant and dumb.
  13. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 20, 2016 -> 09:38 AM) Signing Josh Reddick as our big ticket FA move would be so White Sox. Hey, he used to be good. That's a good enough reason for the Sox to sign him now.
  14. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Sep 20, 2016 -> 08:36 AM) Forfeiting a draft pick to sign a free agent is worst case scenario this offseason. The White Sox can not give up draft picks. Reddick wouldn't require a draft pick. Getting him is better than not doing anything at all if they don't want to rebuild.
  15. In the championship in both of my important leagues. I also have Kershaw in both, so that's nice.
  16. QUOTE (3GamesToLove @ Sep 19, 2016 -> 07:21 AM) I'm hoping you're the only RV at spring training. lol, I was thinking the same thing.
  17. 5 posts in a game thread before this one...must be a new record low around here.
  18. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 16, 2016 -> 10:19 PM) Should that 1 other run have been unearned? Missed the play. Get that era below 3 and I think Sale backdoors his way into the Cy Young It should be, IMO. Dozier would have easily been out had it been an accurate throw.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 16, 2016 -> 09:09 PM) Sale just gave up 7 hits to 10 batters. Sale can't melt down like that. The game would've been entirely different had Saladino made a good throw and gotten out of the inning.
  20. f*** Saladino. This is his fault.
  21. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Sep 16, 2016 -> 11:17 AM) My lord, you f***ing people. Do you seriously strangle splits for "when it mattered" with other players in other eras? With other players on other teams? Math nerds, please do me a favor and tell me how many more wins Jose Abreu would have netted us if his second half was his first half. Add that total to the Sox's win total and tell me if we're in contention yet because Jose Abreu hit "when it mattered" By the way - newsflash - if it turns out that Jose Abreu wouldn't have made a difference by himself "when it mattered" then guess what IT DIDN'T MATTER. JFC. A lot of you are looking WAY TOO HARD to find ways in which Jose Abreu had a bad season. I'm sorry, but Jose Abreu did not have a bad season. His season will end up being very, very similar to last season. Last season was a good season. Not spectacular, but good. If Jose Abreu had the 4 more home runs in the first half to make his numbers "acceptable", and if every one of those home runs turned a loss into a win, the Sox would still be out of contention. You sound angry.
  22. The only people I'd be happy for if they won it all are the really old people and diehard fans that waited their entire lives for this. The people that go to the games just to party and get drunk can f*** themselves. I'll be rooting for any team that plays them.
  23. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 16, 2016 -> 10:00 AM) Agreed. We didn't sign Rollins to bench him. Man does that signing annoy me, still. Thankfully it wasn't for a whole lot of moolah, but yeah, he was done. It's too bad, I wanted him to succeed, he just didn't have anything left.
