  1. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 12:31 PM) I kept thinking that yesterday. Woud be awesome to see him turn on a 103 mph fastball from Chapman. He's not on their roster anymore. He was DFAed IIRC.
  2. I still think Uribe's catch going in the stands is one of the best plays ever considering the situation.
  3. The day before I turned 7. The years really fly by. My parents got me a White Sox World Series Champions winter hat that I still have to this day. The sentimental value of it is crazy.
  4. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Oct 25, 2016 -> 10:19 AM) Cleveland beat toronto on a bullpen day. If Salazar can give them 5 innings he will pitch in Wrigley where they may have to go to the pen anyway with the pitcher batting. If Salazar and Carraso were healthy this series goes heavily to the Indians. Miller neutralizes everyone as he will pitch at least one inning every game. Fixed.
  5. QUOTE (danman31 @ Oct 24, 2016 -> 12:29 PM) Justifying the price is entirely up to you if you only play a few games. That said, the system is super easy to use compared to the PS3. Playing online is usually seamless if you have halfway decent internet. Cool, thanks for your input. I played it a couple times at a buddies house and I had a great time. How much extra is online generally? Is it a yearly thing or per month?
  6. For those of you that have a PS4, would you recommend it? I currently have a PS2 and am looking to upgrade. I'm a casual gamer that plays the likes of MLB The Show, Madden, NBA2K, etc. If I do go through with it, is playing online as good as it seems? Thanks.
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 22, 2016 -> 06:54 PM) They will be dancing in the streets of chicago tonight. Keep it safe and have fun, Chicago. Will you bet your house on it?
  8. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Oct 21, 2016 -> 02:04 PM) The only way the White Sox will get a new stadium is if it's built in Portland, Montreal, North Carolina, or (God forbid) Indiana. And if that northside team (whose name I'll never say on here) goes on a Yankees-like run, I wouldn't doubt if our White Sox were forced to leave Chicago. This is awesome. You hate them so much you won't even say their name.
  9. QUOTE (Carpe Diem @ Oct 20, 2016 -> 02:43 PM) There is nothing wrong with "Guaranteed Rate Field" other than the location. The White Sox are blessed to play in a city that features one of the best skylines in the world and one of the biggest lakes in the world. WHY NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THAT SCENERY?!?! There is absolutely no excuse the White Sox not having a SF Giants like ballpark on the water facing the city. You want to stop being a second class organization? SHOW SOME VISION! I agree with this, but they ain't building another stadium. They should have just planned it better originally. Hell, they could've just rotated the stadium a bit in its current location and part of the skyline would be visible.
  10. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 21, 2016 -> 09:09 AM) I hear you. Sorry about your friend. I would be happy for many of my cub friends also who don't annoy me and the little old lady who never seen a win. Bandwagon fans make it hard for me to be happy for them. Well said. My grandpa's best friend has been a Cubs fan for over 65 years. I'll be happy for people like him. The bandwagoners? Not so much.
  11. Is Abreu not as good as he used to be? Yes. Is he still an above average MLB hitter? Yes. Should he be the guy everyone is worried about upgrading over positions like C, DH, CF, etc? No. With that being said, I wouldn't be opposed to dealing him. I don't see him aging well. But they'd have to get a worthwhile return or it's pointless.
  12. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Oct 20, 2016 -> 01:20 PM) Yep. Called him a potential star and said he'd be definite 1st round pick in upcoming draft if eligible. That's ok...we got Big Game James for him.
  13. QUOTE (striker @ Oct 20, 2016 -> 12:25 PM) With the stars and scrubs roster, limited payroll flexibility and nothing coming up through the minors of value, trading one or more of our stars is the only way to add significant value and depth. Plus, could you imagine how hosed this franchise would be if we lost either Sale or Quintana. Look at the negative impact Abreu's slump had on the entire team offensively simply because we lack depth. I'd be open to dealing Sale, Abreu, Eaton and or Robertson. Give me one or two major league or major league ready players, and a couple prospects. Plus I can add one or two players with the money I just traded away. Imagine if we did a total rebuild. The talent Sale, Quintana, Eaton, Abreu and Robertson would bring back would be huge. Robertson would be a pure salary dump. The Sox would be lucky to get 2 lottery ticket prospects for him, IMO.
  14. I don't understand why some non-Sox fans think that trading for Quintana would be much easier than trading for Sale. To me, Q is more consistent and controlled for an extra year. I still think Sale would get a better return, but Q wouldn't be that far behind. He's VERY undervalued.
  15. LA has to go to Kershaw tomorrow. They have to. It's an automatic loss if Maeda pitches.
  16. Kaplan is the biggest joke in Chicago sports media. He's literally a fan that has his own show.
  17. I'd love to see their dumb fans panic if they lose again tonight. If they do lose against Urias, it's over for them IMO. They can't beat Kershaw normally, but they have absolutely no chance if half their offense is ice cold.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 18, 2016 -> 01:45 PM) anthony fenech ‏@anthonyfenech 1h1 hour ago Avila's 48 minutes, paraphrased: Tigers will try to get younger and leaner in payroll and it's his hope they will compete in 2017. lol. Good luck with that.
  19. QUOTE (Tony @ Oct 18, 2016 -> 12:11 PM) It's Twitter, and people act like a team account is run by the GM, coaches and owner. Twitter should be a place where fans can communicate with the team, and be an outlet for you. Not just a promotional tool to push tickets and updates. I guess I just expect them to act a certain way since no other team does what they do in regards to subtle trolling. They can talk s*** now, because they won't be able to in a couple days.
  20. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 18, 2016 -> 12:07 PM) I hate it when people have fun at their jobs. There's a big difference between "having fun" and "being a total ass to everyone", IMO. I don't mind an occasional roast but they do it so often for a professional team.
  21. The Cubs Twitter account is so unprofessional. They take digs at other teams/players that are completely unnecessary.
  22. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Oct 18, 2016 -> 07:08 AM) A deal has to at least include one of Benintendi/JBJ (Betts I'd imagine is untouchable), one of Moncada/Devers and Eduardo Rodriguez. And then likely 2 of Kopech, Johnson and Groome. I'd be happy with Benintendi/Moncada/Rodriguez/Kopech/Groome but I'd think the Red Sox wouldn't do that.
  23. I'm heartbroken. McEwing was my favorite 3rd base coach since Jeff Cox.
  24. QUOTE (SCCWS @ Oct 13, 2016 -> 06:16 PM) Boston definitely needs another arm or two in the bullpen. But there top bullpen need is a lefty since they only have one They have 3 (Ross, Abad, and Scott), but I'd happily give them Dan Jennings if they're willing to overpay for him.
  25. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Oct 12, 2016 -> 10:03 AM) A little out of order so I apologize. It is October 7, 2005, the Sox are in Boston and Orlando Hernandez throws perhaps the single most significant inning in Sox post season history as he gets out of a bases loaded, no out jam to help preserve the Sox lead. They'd win the game, sweep the Red Sox in the A.L.D.S. and move on to face the Angels. We've got the audio AND video. Chris berman is the announcer. Courtesy: ESPN2. http://www.chicagonow.com/soxnet/2016/10/t...es-masterpiece/ Mark I get goosebumps watching/listening to this. Every single time.
