  1. Sale is officially over 1,000 K's in his career, as he now has 1,004 total after last nights start. He is now 34.67% of the way there to 3,000 K's for his career, and he's not even 27 years old yet. Pretty impressive IMO.
  2. Eaton has been very good in a Sox uniform and is one of the only guys to earn his keep in my opinion. If I'm Hahn, the only guys that are in the lineup right now and are a lock to be starters next year are Eaton, Abreu, Melky, and maybe Alexei if he gives the Sox a discount. Everyone else should be on the hot seat as far as their spot in the lineup next year. You can't win games with only 3 or 4 good hitters.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 10:21 AM) If they trade both Sale and Quintana they might as well move the entire organization with them. Imagine how bad the attendance would be if they did blow everything up? It's not good now (15,000 or so a game I think), and that's with stars like Sale, Abreu, etc still on the team. If those guys left, I wouldn't be surprised if the attendance went under 10,000 a game. They'd have to give away tickets most likely.
  4. QUOTE (shakes @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 08:41 AM) To be blunt....who cares? What Sale wants isn't going to drive what the Sox should do, and if it does they have the wrong people in charge. Whether or not Sale wins in his career should be about #500 on the list of priorities for how the Sox approach their future. Honestly, it is probably time to consider trading him. They have so many holes that can't be filled by their farm that FA is the only way and I think the front office has proven, time and again, they are not good enough to do it through FA. People are saying trading Sale is the nuclear option. Nope, trade Sale and Q. That is the nuclear option and I really think they should consider it. They are that far away right now. Teams like LAD, Boston, Cubs, Rangers are all contending, have deep farms, and are looking for pitching. Take advantage of it. Developing pitching is the one thing they are good at, but I see no other way they are going to fill 5-6 holes in position players. If they trade both Sale and Quintana, then there is no reason to keep guys like Abreu, Eaton, etc either. In other words, if Sale and Q are both traded, then the Sox would have to blow everything up and start from scratch. I'd keep Rodon, Fulmer, and Anderson if they got to that point, but everyone else would be available.
  5. Sale is a once in a generation type talent and I am proud that he is a member of the White Sox. Now please surround him with better talent so that he can be in the postseason in a White Sox uniform.
  6. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 09:32 PM) Those are Abreu's numbers, just to be clear. Wow, I'm an idiot haha. I thought those were the numbers of the hitters against Sale in those innings. Sorry for the mix-up. I need to go to bed.
  7. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 09:25 PM) Innings 1-3: .285/.346/.509 Innings 4-6: .332/.379/.608 Innings 7-9: .252/.304/.387 Looks like you're right. I have casually noticed that he tends to get hit the hardest the second time through the lineup, and these numbers support that claim. Thanks for the post.
  8. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 08:48 PM) This is probably Sale's worst season so far. It also happens to be his most hyped/popular one. It's still not that bad by any means. Most pitchers would kill to have his season this year as their best year.
  9. All in all, a pretty good outing for Sale. If only the offense wasn't little league caliber. He should be getting a no decision at the very least for his effort.
  10. Let's score at least one more here so Sale doesn't get the loss.
  11. No slider Chris Sale = bad Slider Chris Sale = amazing It's really as simple as that.
  12. QUOTE (Tannerfan @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 06:29 PM) Watching the Yankees broadcast on MLBtv. So nice to hear professional broadcasting. You don't think Hawk is a professional?
  13. QUOTE (3GamesToLove @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 06:24 PM) This is a silly thread to make. We don't even know if Fulmer can be a starter at the big league level. Perhaps it is, I just thought it would be an interesting discussion. Both these guys have a ton of talent. The sky is the limit for them as long as they avoid injuries.
  14. I'm sorry, but I doubt this kid is 16. He's probably 18 or 19. There is no 16 year old I know that is built like that.
  15. Even if Fulmer only ends up being a solid #4 starter (which is the worst case scenario IMO), that still gives the Sox a great rotation with Sale and Rodon as their aces and Quintana being a very solid #2 or #3 and then Fulmer behind him. Those 4 are pretty much locks to be in the rotation for the next 4-5 years, but I would have to think that at least one of Johnson, Beck, Danish, Adams, Montas, another prospect, etc will pan out and be a serviceable #5 guy at the very least. All in all, the Sox have a very bright future as far as their pitching staff goes. The lineup is another story.
  16. QUOTE (knightni @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 03:45 PM) Please message someone if you have an issue, don't report the thread. It goes to everyone. Sorry. The title of the thread got messed up and it's annoying my OCD.
  17. Fulmer reminds me of Trevor Bauer honestly. I just hope that Carson doesn't have the same control issues as Bauer.
  18. Simple question here. Both guys are young studs now, but who do you think will end up being the better pitcher? I'm going to say Rodon, as I think his motion is more fluid and repetitive, plus he's already improved ten fold since the season started. I still think Fulmer will be great, but I haven't seen as much of him on TV.
  19. I will be upset if Sale is moved, but I'd understand why they'd trade him if it helped better the franchise as a whole. It's all spectulation at this point though. I personally don't think he'll be traded until at least 2017 at the earliest. Maybe later than that.
  20. QUOTE (daggins @ Sep 23, 2015 -> 08:17 PM) He's basically Cole Hamels. For 1/3 the price which is awesome.
  21. This has nothing to do with Sale, but would you guys do a Quintana for Seager deal? I think I would. I love Q, but Seager looks like a stud and he plays third base, which is a black hole for the Sox.
  22. Yes Hawk, it is too late for Beckham to become a star. He'll be nothing more than a bench player for the rest of his career.
  23. So Montas was bad today? Didn't get to watch the game.
