  1. You can kiss him goodbye after 2023 then. Moncada is going to be a star, the time to lock him up long term is now. The longer they wait, the more expensive he will be.
  2. If this gets done, the Sox will have a legit 6 or 7 year window of contention. While I see your argument, I’m fine with the deal even if it’s not “team friendly”
  3. Even if the 9/$171M figure is true, that’s only $19M a year for a guy who will be in his prime for pretty much the entire contract. Sign me up for that.
  4. I’m going to be crushed if this doesn’t happen now. So much smoke...
  5. If true, this would be amazing.
  6. I was impressive with Madrigal‘s at-bat even though he only grounded out. The guy makes pitchers work.
  7. The Sox could literally win the World Series and that guy would still find a reason to complain.
  8. Not that it really matters, but why are Madrigal and Vaughn lower in the lineup than Engel, Mendick, and Delmonico?
  9. Didn’t know what thread to put this in, but man I hope this is true
  10. There’s not much risk in this deal at all though. They’re essentially paying him slightly more than $3 million a year for the next 5 years. If he sucks by the end of the contract they just won’t pick up the club options. I like it.
  11. Makes a lot of sense if they want to make him the closer of the future. This extension avoids having to pay him a lot in arbitration down the line.
  12. The Sox should have signed him to a deal like that. He was the perfect fit for this team. But of course Reinsdorf is too cheap.
  13. The Sox were down like 56-44 a couple hours ago, now it’s only 52-48. We have a shot
  14. To be fair, there are a lot of bodybuilders on this site.
  15. I could see Puig preferring the Rockies to the Sox. He would probably get more playing time there and hitting in Coors would inflate his stats.
  16. I’m not a big Puig fan but I’d be fine with it at this point. He’s good depth should someone get hurt and will come cheap enough that the Sox can DFA him if it doesn’t work out.
  17. Mine is when Buehrle hit his only MLB home run in Milwaukee. My grandpa was at his Perfect Game.
  18. He would’ve looked so good on the Sox. FUCK
  19. Luis Robert being traded confirmed.
  20. Nothing beats the "I'm in the best shape of my life" quotes.
  21. So Ed Howard then?
  22. But Dozier and Holt aren’t really shortstops either, so I don’t know what the plan is at this point unless they’re just going to go with Leury as the utility infielder once Madrigal comes up.
