Not that it really matters, but I can’t believe Tayron Guerrero was DFAed instead of Dylan Covey. It’s unbelievable how long of a leash Covey has had considering how terrible he is.

I agree with this. I would have never thought the Sox had a chance of signing Betts before this offseason started, but they proved that they will spend aggressively on guys they really like (Grandal) and offer the most for a desirable free agent (Wheeler). I’m not saying that the Sox will sign Betts, but I feel more optimistic about the possibility of it happening than I did when this offseason started.

Edwin Diaz is so intriguing to me. I have no idea how much it would take to get him, but he’s proven how good he can be and is still under team control for awhile. If the Sox traded for him and he turned things around, he would be the closer and everyone else would move down an inning. That could be a really good bullpen with Bummer/Colomé/Diaz covering the 7th/8th/9th.

They also brought back Pineda, but yeah, that rotation is not very good at all. Hill is good when he’s on the mound but he’s almost always injured. And Bailey is trash.

We get Keuchel, they get Hill and Bailey. Love it to see it.

Rumor has it that they couldn’t sign Eric Sogard until they subtracted money, so I think they’re pretty broke.

I still think Ruiz has potential. And they claimed Guerrero off waivers earlier this offseason, so I hope they give him a look as well. Zavala, Covey, Fulmer, etc should all be gone before those two.

The only way it’s a 4 year deal is if Keuchel pitches well enough in the 3rd year to warrant the Sox picking up the club option. Great deal.

Kela would be a one year rental, I don’t think it makes much sense to trade for him. Same goes for Giles. I would rather just sign a guy like Hudson or Harris personally.

I actually do think the Sox could win 95 games in a best case scenario. Realistically, I’ll say 85-88 at the moment.
