QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 10, 2017 -> 12:48 PM) Did Hahn say anything interesting? Was asked about Sept call-ups and said they hadn't really discussed anyone specifically yet, but did mention that Giolito has done what they asked. Possibly we'll see him in Sept (speculation on my part here, RH didn't say that)? He also mentioned Jose Abreu is great, despite ron883's wishes of him being DFA-worthy. -
QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 9, 2017 -> 01:02 PM) That's why I don't care about prospects and why I get excited when a guy like Davidson actually shows promise on a big league diamond. I'm totally outnumbered though, as prospects and the mystery of the future are sexy. And even though a guy like Davidson had some incredible moments this season and was headed for 30 home runs before he got hurt, he's considered a bum because his advanced stats suck. No mention of the fact he might improve and be able to build on a 30 home run season. I truly hope you rebuild people are correct and our organization dominates the AL for years to come. Chicks (and Greg) dig the longball.

Buster Olney @Buster_ESPN now The Dodgers have sent three minor-leaguers to the Rangers for Yu Darvish; not Verdugo. Jon Morosi @jonmorosi now Willie Calhoun to Texas. -
QUOTE (miracleon35th @ Jul 31, 2017 -> 10:46 AM) Anyone can parse stats to make a point. For example, Moustakis BA and OBP for 2014 was pretty bad (.212. BA .271 OBP) He would have been gone if KC did not believe he could improve. Geezus, give Davidson a chance. This is his first almost full season. And hit a landmark homerun against the Cubs. Never forget that either. What does that matter? Would it have meant less if it was vs the A's or Padres? We're all giving Davidson a chance, but people are just pointing out the flaws in his game. It's called criticism.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 30, 2017 -> 10:33 PM) OMG. You are going to criticize a 26 year old rookie who hits 30 home runs in his first showing in the bigs? I love Moncada, but lets say over the next eight weeks he gets about 8 hits and continues to hit .100. Would u dare criticize him? Don't you see the cliche aspect of what you are saying? All these recent trades and these players we got are beloved. Davidson 'could' hit 30 fricking home runs in his debut season? If he does, my gosh, he deserves rookie of the year. How many rookies hit 30 fricking home runs? Cmon people, does nobody support me on this?? No, 30 HRs would be cool because it's nice to cheer for, but like several have mentioned previously (mine in a more condensed style), the rest of his game isn't all that impressive now. 30 HRs in itself is nothing to scoff at, and sure he could further improve his overall game and that would obviously be welcomed, but I'm not gonna lose my mind solely over the potential of 30HRs when the rest of his game is mediocre (at best) now. He's a good player to have in a rebuild because he'll get his shot to prove himself and his game moving forward. If he doesn't, he'll be replaced by one our "beloved" prospects. Complacency gets you nowhere, always strive for better.

QUOTE (Lillian @ Jul 30, 2017 -> 12:46 PM) Where would you guess Puckett will be ranked, among our prospects? Purely guessing, I'll say he comes in at #20

Fabian Ardaya @FabianArdaya 10s #WhiteSox get RHP AJ Puckett (KC's No. 13) and LHP Andre Davis from KC. Puckett was #Royals second-round pick in 2016. Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal 7s Source: #WhiteSox paying half of ~$5.1M remaining on Melkys salary, #Royals the rest.

-
Jon Heyman @JonHeyman 45s hear chisox have gotten a little interest in the melk man, tho they'd obvs have to pay down some of that $15M salary. still can hit!

Anthony Swarzak to Brewers; Sox receive Ryan Cordell
Sleepy Harold replied to username's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 25, 2017 -> 11:24 PM) SH, I suspect outside the top 150 still means somewhere near the top 150. If outside the top 150 is still fair game for like the 700th rated prospect, then fine, I stand corrected. Is he really the 700th though? What if Cordell ranks 350, or 225, or 475? Does his player ranking really truly matter in the grand scheme of things? Cordell has potential and the Sox traded away a veteran player on a prove it milb deal that happened to pitch very well this season (and with a mediocre at best track record) to get him. -

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 25, 2017 -> 11:09 PM) I called people sheep for accusing me of being an idiot for wanting a player better than Ryan Cordell, when that was nowhere near what the vast majority was speculating prior to the deal occurring. See the difference? I recall the one tweet we all saw that said he MIGHT possibly fetch a prospect outside top 150 from Hayes that's exactly what the Sox did here so I'm not sure what "vast majority" you're referring to. Seems like this trade falls exactly into what Hayes tweeted out yesterday. If you have other examples where it's stated that he'd fetch something better I must have overlooked and would truly love to check them out.
