I agree that he phrased it as the Sox are trading for Eduardo (and that's how I interpreted it as well), but he went out of his way to type what he did instead of actually saying he was traded to the Sox. Like I said, he said it without actually saying it. Probably just splitting hairs over it, as we'll (hopefully) know the outcome soon enough.- Heyman: Sox interested in someone on some team. Nightengale: *nods*
He didn't exactly say it, but I think the "and soon on his way from the #Dbacks to the #WhiteSox" part is essentially saying it without actually having said it.- 6.26 games
No stream in Asheville, so unless someone was there, very unlikely one will surface.- Heyman: Sox interested in someone on some team. Nightengale: *nods*
Of course, that's what "insiders" do- Heyman: Sox interested in someone on some team. Nightengale: *nods*
Well according to NSC it was supposed to be done "in the next few days" around 10 days ago...so nothing new other than Bob and Heyman saying the Sox are interested, which isn't really new.- 6/24 Games
Yeah I don't think they necessity want to roll the dice with him at 2b right now either, which I completely understand.- 6/24 Games
Yeah those are drastic, so maybe a Sheets/Burger DH platoon with some mixing in at 2B/OF (if the Sox are feeling crazy) could work. If they want to give it some run before the deadline, Sheets has a nice line of .330/.367/.553 920 OPS vs RHP. I know AAA stats are what they are and they (obviously) aren't guarantees for MLB success, I just don't know how much longer Yermin can continue to be a black hole before something is done. To this point, Adam Eaton has been a better hitter since May (albeit in 56 less PAs) than Yermin, and Eaton can't hit LHP at all. It's not an ideal scenario, but it's something that could play to their strengths and possibly help the team out.- 6/24 Games
At this rate, I don't see how much longer they can reasonably keep Burger down while Yermin is swinging a pool noodle at the dish. Great to see Jake forcing the issue.- Madrigal Done for 2021
Yolbert? He's currently in Winston-Salem with a 709 OPS but been hitting a bit better as of late.- Madrigal Done for 2021
That makes sense to me. Versatility across the IF is always a plus, bring Eduardo home Rick.- Madrigal Done for 2021
The Sox could use some more if you ask me.- Cuban Connection
I'm sure that plays a big factor, but don't forget about Alexei Ramirez and Jose Contreras' successes here. I'm sure those didn't hurt either. Maybe you could even make a case for Viciedo and El Duque, although that may be a bit tougher. I'm sure a portion of it has to do with the comfortability factor as well. Jose, Yoan, Luis, and Yaz are all on the major league club and signed lucrative deals with the club. Young players coming out of Cuba have seen how the Sox have handled them and I'm sure it's at least intriguing to them.- The TLR Manager Thread

They hit what, four 3R HRs tonight? The Sox essentially made Birmingham the island of misfit toys this year, but they're all coming out of the gates scorching hot. Love to see it.- May 13th Games
Hansen pitched and had 3 more walks. Dude just hasn't been able to find the plate since 2017, really sucks to see.- 2021 MLB Draft Thread
This particular mock has the Sox selecting Wes Kath- Cespedes
Like @DirtySox said, once his Visa issues are resolved, he's expected to join Birmingham.- zack collins
Those points are valid and catchers should obviously focus on trying to prevent as many as they can. Looking at the stats, the Sox are tied for second with 7 other teams with 4 PBs, which isn't great (Marlins lead the league with 6). They also check in at 26th with 7 WPs this season (the Tigers are in first with a whopping 25). While the PB portion could absolutely use some shoring up, the Sox and their Cs seem to be doing a great job at limiting WPs. It would be interesting to see if there is any direct correlation on the way C's set up leading (or not leading) to more WP/PBs.- zack collins

Players aren't running nearly as much on the base paths as they used to. So if they theoretically aren't a threat to run, wouldn't it be more advantageous as a catcher to put yourself in a better position to steal pitches for your pitcher? Bc two HOF C's (I'm guessing Yadi will be in there) caught one particular way doesn't mean that way will work for everyone.- Albert Pujols
No amount of logic and reasoning can deter TLR from getting what he wants.- 2021 MLB Catch-all Thread
