Which career would you pick?
The answer, quite simply, is Robert. He is a generational talent who also has a baseball IQ beyond his years.

Madrigal leaves with injured shoulder - separated - out a month
I tore my labrum 7 years ago at age 52. Took a little more than 2 months of PT, but no surgery was needed. There were lingering effects for awhile but I eventually got past those. The big difference, of course, is that I’m not trying to hit major league pitching or turn double plays from the 2nd base position, even on an amateur level. I imagine that Avi and Bryant might still be suffering lingering effects because they cannot realistically wait long enough for the last 1-2% to heal completely.

8/4 Sox vs Brewers GT
The way starters are dropping like flies, I think teams will hold on tighter.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
I see what you did there.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
Using only two OFs against any batter would be silly.

MADRIGAL CALLED UP! (Herrera DFA)
Wanting them to take the traditional risk in drafting a boom-or-bust guy does not negate the fact that draftees more often bust than make it. You disagree with the draft strategy. So be it. It is still a strategy with reason behind it: https://community.fangraphs.com/success-rate-of-mlb-first-round-draft-picks-by-slot/ This chart shows that the surest way to get a major leaguer is to draft a high floor guy in the 1st round. After that, the odds are decidedly against any team getting a major league player: https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/how-many-mlb-draftees-make-it-to-the-majors/

MADRIGAL CALLED UP! (Herrera DFA)
First of all, drafting and developing a league average player at any position is not easy for any team. Secondly, high contact hitting, high OBP, and better than average defense are tools. Thirdly, the failure rate on any baseball draft pick, including the 1st round picks, is so high that if you get an above average player from any pick you are beating the odds. If Madrigal becomes a regular, he will have outperformed his draft position historically. That enough is worthy of the pick.

MADRIGAL CALLED UP! (Herrera DFA)
This is my chief complaint about the “Madrigal wasn’t worthy of a #4 pick” crowd. Just what do those detractors think the #4 pick does on average?

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
Absolutely loved the way they scored in the 9th. Good ABs through the first six batters. I’m really glad Eloy got that sac fly after having a mediocre AB in his previous AB.

White Sox Sign Robert to Extension
They would be wrong.

White Sox Sign Robert to Extension
I’m surprised that more Sox fans don’t recognize that and just assume Abreu is always getting fooled on sliders breaking away.

Will Harris to Nats
Linebrink was the first person I thought of when I saw this deal.

Can the 20s be the best decade in Sox history?
Cue Mr. Wolf from Pulp Fiction.

White Sox Sign Robert to Extension
And that is why the Hayward signing was a terrible move from day 1. I love the the forward-thinking aspect of these types of signings. Fair deal for everyone involved while maintaining flexibility in roster construction.

Sox acquire Nomar Mazara for Steele Walker
Or Kopech.

Time to rebuild the rebuild?
No.

Sox acquire Nomar Mazara for Steele Walker
Avi being 28 now instead of 24 might have something to do with it.

Cole to the Yankees: 9 years, $324 million.
Well, I know I’ll be pissed if all GMs don’t hang up on Cashman when he calls to unload either/both of Cole’s and Stanton’s salary in 3-5 years.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
- Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
I'm shocked that Boras would say something like that.- Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
How do you know that?- Sox acquire Nomar Mazara for Steele Walker
I think this is a fair assessment.- FS: What the White Sox are losing in Steele Walker
I guess the Sox should have instead drafted players such as these: Tom Eshelman Nick Burdi Cody Reed Eddie Butler Joe Musgrove - Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
