  1. Are Selig and Sosa gonna kiss in your sig? You've never seen Playmakers on ESPN, have you?
  2. Your new sig is funny but it is a shame the Baseball Commissioner would shake hands with a CHEATER!!!!! :fyou ShamME and :fyou Bud!
  3. got in the way of another pitch tonight against the Expos. I didn't see it. I just heard it reported by a local news agency because I was listening to Chicago's real baseball team during the Cubs game at work. Anybody hear about this? Was it as memorable as Solomon Torres? Was is "payback" after a hop? Sportspages only reporting his inflated head got in the way of a pitch. Anything?
  4. When everyone in ur pen is doing well, ur a genius When everyone in ur pen is sucking it up, ur a moron You are what your pen does. Bringing anyone in with a 6 run lead really can't be a bad decision in and of itself. Quit blaming JM sometimes, hold these damn pitchers accountable Also, a lot of you manage in hinsight, and we all know that's 20/20. Jose P should have never been in the game to begin with and should have never had the chance to be held accountable. Anyone who defends JM in this scenario is blind in their view and needs to be thumped over the head with a large, heavy object. Bulls*** You gotta see what the guy has, and it's a 6 run lead You are managing in hindsight cuz if he went 1-2-3 none of this talk comes up now, does it? You can argue that he was left in too late, but other than that, should we go to Marte and Gordon if it's 6 run lead or less every damn time? Go thump yourself, tool You leave Schoenweiss in. This is not the time to experiment. The other thing is he hadn't faced live hitters in over a week. I'm sure your attitude about it would be different if Mohr put one in the bleachers. Its too close to be screwing around. But he had a six run lead
  5. Lost in all this Carlos love is the fact that C Lee is a bonafide..... CUBKILLA!!!!! Congrats C Lee. I always knew you had it in you.
  6. Game 3 is the one I'm leery about. Santana v. Garland is MN's best chance to win out of the 4..... IMHO. We win tomorrow, and we have Loaiza going on Thursday for number 20 AND the sweep. We need the Jon Garland we saw against Boston a few season back tomorrow for sure.
  7. And you can rip me all you want for saying that, but it's the TRUTH. Here's to you JM for almost blowing the biggest game of the year by throwing a pitcher released in spring training by Tampa Bay. :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou Why rip you when you are right ?
  8. REALLY, does ESPN give him all the credit? Moronotti does Consider THAT next time you defend dumbass JM all you Manuel backers!
  9. All this board is becoming is posts about predictions, sweeps, and the UD But let's try not to get ahead of ourselves people. We're one Judy Garland performance and one corpseball performance away from splitting this series and being right back where we started
  10. From the right side of the plate at least
  11. He's plenty bad. We only have a two game lead. We're two bad BP moves in two games away from being tied for first with MN again. Or a "white flagging" line-up away because JM wanted to rest the guys before Boston and NY. They still need to to..... FIRE MANUEL!
  12. I think MLB sets the price for playoff tix. So, take the regular season price for a seat charged at USCF and multiply by 2. Just a guess though. You could call Wrigley Field to get an idea since Addison and Clark got their playoff tickets in April
  13. I was kind of surprised doing my job rounds last night that USCF wasn't filled to capacity for last nights ballgame. But it was far from half-full. And, this is JMHO, even without a sell-out, there appeared to me from the Dan Ryan that there had to be more than 32,000 in attendance. There were a few rows of fans in the last sections of the left and right field UD. But what do I know ? Speaking of traffic for last nights game, anybody get to smell the rotten meat and poultry dumped from a truck in a traffic crash in the S/B Dan Ryan Local Lanes right under 35th St.? Good stuff :puke.
  14. You must have missed the myriad of posts from posters like myself, The Critic, Maury, and HSC Vince. While we don't rip on Gallas as much as JR, KW, and JM, we have ripped on Gallas outdated, overused, and unimaginative PR devices. BRING ON NICKLE BEER NIGHT FOR '04 ROB!!!!! :fyou
  15. That's one of the glaring differences between Sox and Cub fans. If the Sox make the playoffs and the Cubs don't, Cubs fans will usually say that they are cheering for the Sox because they are from Chicago. On the otherhand, if the Cubs make the playoffs and the Sox don't, Sox fans wish swift and vengeful death on the Cubs in the playoffs. So it doesn't surprise me that Cubs fans would want to see the White Sox win too this year for a "rematch." I think you all know where I stand. I NEVER want to see a Sox/Cubs World Series. If I don't literally kill a Cubs fans, I'll end up in the hospital with Guiness-worthy ulcers or an insane asylum. I hate the sCrUBS that much. :fyou sCrUBS. No time like the present for a losing streak at the hands of a still contending but not likely going to make it Montreal team.
  16. If a policy is going to keep you away from one of the biggest series of the season, then you are as fairweather as they come. The Northside baseball team has an upper deck that is not as steep with none of the attractions that Comiskey Park offers. Maybe you'll be happier there. And the Northside ballclub will scalp good tickets to you if you're willing to pay a "premium" price .
  17. Yes there is. Where you live has a lot to do with Sox fans. My sister - who is still in Florida (and married to a Yankee fan bless her soul the woman is a saint) is only able to get here once a year for the Cub's series and drives to Tampa when they play there. But she goes no matter what their record faithfully. oh come on, of course that is an exception. So is being parapalegic or quadrapeligic. So is being 11. So is being in a nursing home. So is being away at school. So are other valid reasons. I didn't know that we had to have all the obvious exceptions put in for the sake of this thread. You forgot working the afternoon shift in September
  18. I find it funny that a guy who demands .500 or above in the standings before he'll consider going to a game is b****ing and moaning that about 20,000 other people, just like him, were smart enough to get HALF-PRICE tix to a HUGE SERIES before the DoG so that they could sit in the lower bowl.
  19. Section 500 ticket holders used to be able to go down to the lower deck until Ligue and a certain Cub fan. If you're looking for someone to blame, blame them. Don't blame the season ticket holders or the posters here that go to 10+ games a year and spend the money to sit in the lower deck.
  20. I've always maintained that the '01 Bears 13-3 season was the absolute WORST thing that could have happened to an extremely average team. All the '01 Bears did was win a schedule against mostly below average teams. After '01, when the Bears should have been pursuing proven QB's like Bledsoe, cheap-skate Owner McCaskey figured that Miller could do the job for less money..... after all, he went 13-3 in '01. Since then, the Bears have had a playoff team caliber schedule and have played like a AA Division College Team. The Bears have been exposed as the frauds of the '01 Playoff Class.
  21. I stopped caring about the BlackHawks a few seasons back. I know I made the right decision after reading The Thread on BHZ.com where Wirtz returned a long-time season ticket holders money because he had the audacity to question the BHawk Organization's outdated direction for the team. :fyou Wirtz. As for their lines? Who cares ?
