  1. His current walk rate is over double his already very good career walk rate, it's insane. He's swinging the bat less than 25% of the time and they're just not throwing strikes to him.
  2. It's only felt like the Sox offense is underperforming and disappointing because offense as a whole across baseball is way down. Relatively they've been good from the start of the season.
  3. Over the first two weeks of the season they were 7th in baseball in wRC+ and 7th in runs scored. They had the longest streak of any team in scoring at least 3 runs per game to start the season. They've never been bad. Yeah they've had a few bad games offensively but name a team that hasn't.
  4. The Sox are 4th in baseball in wRC+ and rated 3rd defensively. I don't understand why people here think the offense has been bad.
  5. Before Robert went down the Sox were #1 in the MLB in wRC+. They'll only increase their lead after tonight. His injury will definitely hurt but without him it's not like the lineup is AAA quality.
  6. Also is walking more than he's striking out and has a .342 OBP despite hitting .123, he's hitting grounders to the right side a bit too much but he's still been really unlucky and even with that he's still getting on base at an above average rate. Not worried.
  7. Grandal now has 16 walks to 14 strikeouts on the season and his average exit velocity is a career best by almost 3 mph. I’m not worried about him.
  8. After last night, the White Sox are now 1st in MLB in fWAR among position players, 6th among pitchers and are 2nd in defense.
  9. Giolito isn't pitching well at all, but outside of the first batter the Red Sox haven't hit anything hard, so many soft singles.
  10. Buehrle had a third time he went 27 up 27 down too. Two singles, two double plays against Cleveland in 2004 I think?
  11. For some communities the nearest DMV can be an hour drive away and only open during working hours and if you don't own a car you're basically out of luck if you want to get an ID. If you're so concerned about "election integrity" then push for a free ID to be given upon registration and make voter registration automatic.
  12. Eloy wins MVP. Yes you read that correctly, he's just that good when he comes back.
  13. They have the Sox only scoring 11 runs more than the Indians. Also how are the median projected wins at 83 if the run differential is projected to be -10?
  14. They need another SP for depth, but people overrate the quality of the back end of most rotations. 1-5 The Sox are currently projected as the 7th best rotation in baseball, and 2nd in the AL at half a win behind the Yankees. Looking at the rotations projected below the Sox only Cleveland's is currently one I would say is probably better with the Blue Jays, Athletics, Astros and Twins in the same range.
  15. If Trump doesn't run again in 2024, at this point who is the favorite to win the GOP primary? Pence and Cotton are charisma black holes, Hawley is too much of a dweeb, and the Trump kids are losers who are unlikely to be able to inspire the same kind of cultish loyalty their father did, especially if the GOP tries to distance themselves from Trump over the next four years. I don't see them going back to boring old establishment candidates either though. The MyPillowGuy maybe?
  16. It also hasn't been that tight of a zone for the Sox hitters, like that first pitch to Madrigal.
  17. I wouldn't call hitting a ball 110 mph a sign of being a mental midget.
  18. You're not getting Lynn without Vaughn and Clevinger is currently hurt.
  19. I forget, who were the other SP besides Lynn and Clevinger?
  20. Considering Lynn wasn't traded I don't think we would have gotten him without giving up Vaughn.
  21. This game is brutal to watch, nearly three hours in and not even through 5
  22. Hell of an at bat by Mazara
  23. Yeah I don't get blaming Renteria here, he pulled everyone when they were clearly faltering and had nothing left.
  24. I like having Lamb out of there.
