  1. I asked a few people on Twitter yesterday who said that Anderson "had it coming" if it would be OK for Anderson to charge the mound if a pitcher pimped a strikeout against him and they always fail to see the double standard. Violence is OK apparently but only one way.
  2. .329, .282, .333 the last 3 seasons so not really.
  3. I actually think relievers are the one position where they’re more valuable with less control remaining due to how volatile the position is. It sounds weird but I think Colome would actually have less value if he had an additional year of control right now.
  4. Yankees in April have had three home series against Baltimore, Detroit and the White Sox and went 3-6 in those games.
  5. To play devil's advocate, the Red Sox won the division by 8 games and Sale was pretty bad throughout the playoffs, you could argue that he wasn't really integral to the championship last year.
  6. Went to Disneyworld last year and I fortunately have a friend who's an Imagineer. Was able to crash on his couch and he got me into all of the parks completely free. Only had to pay for my food. Was so spoiled by that trip I don't think I could ever do it full price.
  7. How do you walk Dee Gordon twice? Guy went months without a walk last season.
  8. He swung at the first two pitches instead of just watching them go by, even his strikeouts this year are more encouraging.
  9. Bunting on a 3-1 count?
  10. Back to throwing 93 this inning?
  11. Both of those on 2 strike counts too
  12. Yeah I believe the only homegrown innings by any pitcher drafted under Theo has been the 34.2 Innings thrown by Rob Zastryzny.
  13. Cubs clearly goofed not really signing anyone in the offseason but given Theo's track record with free agents not sure it would have helped anyway. It's his misses in free agency that have caused them to not have any more money left to spend to upgrade the roster.
  14. Quick look at Plate Discipline Metrics 2018 vs. 2019 from Pitch Info O-Swing% - 22.2% - 16.7% Z-Swing% - 62.0% - 69.2% Swing% - 41.1% - 42.0% O-Contact% - 45% - 57.1% Z-Contact% - 80.0% - 85.2% Contact% - 70.1% - 79.4% So he's actually only been swinging just a bit more overall, but he's way up in swinging at pitches in the strike zone. What's most comforting though is that his contact percentage is way way up. If he can keep an ~80% contact rate going forward then RIP rest of league.
  15. Not that this detracts from your point at all, but Gonzalez had a 96 wRC+ and Alonso had a 97 wRC+. Check mate!
  16. Cubs Red Sox and Yankees are a combined 4-13, I like this timeline.
  17. 109 mph, 438 feet.
  18. Boring answer, but it all depends on the offers.
  19. Ball 2 to Allen on GameDay was nearly in the center of the strike zone, cost Rodon a K.
  20. His velocity has never really recovered since his shoulder injury has it?
  21. Throwing 88-89 in the first inning again, Rodon really needs to change his pregame routine or something.
  22. 110 mph exit velocity
  23. Watching on GameDay, what happened with Leury?
  24. I understand his point but this is different. Sale has had lower velocity to start seasons before but that meant 93-94 not 88-89. His velocity hasn't just dropped it has cratered.
  25. My bad, I mixed up the Mariners and Marlins, guess my brain stopped reading after seeing the “MAR”, you’re right.
