They are trying to compete for 2016 but they still missed out on a big OF improvement (3.3 WAR), a top 10 infield prospect, and a top 50(?) pitching prospect. I'm sure Q would have brought in another piece.

Between Puig and Chapman the Dodgers would have an interesting clubhouse next year. Maybe they should go after Jose Reyes too and complete the trifecta.
