  1. Robert clearly made his swing weaker so he wouldnt strike out. Its no wonder his OPS is so damn low
  2. swung at ball 3 that was about 2 feet off the plate
  3. I mean it could be a mix for all of the above, this org hasnt proven anything beyond trading a generational superstar and signing top Cubans. You could easily make a case for all of these to be true. That being said the hitting approach this year is terrible, i have to put coaching as my #1.
  4. what "normal leg soreness" warrants 5 days of inactivity? Why was he playing the field then? I just dont get it
  5. Its just mind boggling how bad its been
  6. I have a strong bias against Frank and it probably clouds my mind whenever I look at these hitters. Who knows. Some orgs (the annual contenders) put a ton of money in their hitting coaches from low A to the MLB level so i have to put some stock into it.
  7. 6mph average decrease from 2019, even Albert Pujols from age 35 to 42 hasnt seen a decrease in exit velocity. Is there ANY other player in baseball that has seen a hit to their strength like this because of Covid? https://www.mlb.com/news/yoan-moncada-worked-on-improving-at-the-plate-c301379800 You can't tell me Moncada "doesnt care" after reading that, i think his mental is absolutely broken. I strongly feel that Menechino's gameplan is destroying these hitters, the "dont do too much" mindset is exactly the opposite of what Moncada did in 2019. https://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/white-sox/ct-spt-white-sox-yoan-moncada-top-prospects-sullivan-20180127-story.html Am I defending Steverson? No. But The above quote just shows how much Moncada gets lost in his head. You look at his atbats now and you just cant say hes free in his mindset. Hes back to that. Hes thinking too much. That is probably why his power is gone, because hes "just trying to make good contact", just what Menechino wants. Look at his atbats, hes trying to beat the shift, trying to place the ball where defenders arent. In 2019 he just mashed, probably didnt think about that at all. Id love to see someone break down his 2019 approach vs 2020-2022.
  8. It should have been dirt cheap, nobody else was going to offer him 15 million dollars. It makes me so irate
  9. I will say Moncada has been the biggest disappointment during this whole Menechino era for me, his 2019 was absurd and what I was hoping to see for the rest of his prime years. If he was even close to those numbers he would have been so fun to watch. Easily could have been the most marketable White Sox in recent memory.
  10. hes just much weaker. His EV and hardhit numbers are nowhere close to his 2019 levels. On top of him being weaker, whatever Menechino has been working with him on has led him to an increasing groundball%. 10% more groundballs this season. Hes not even hitting linedrives either. Its either in the ground or a popout.
  11. Leury will go 3-5 and Sheets will hit a homer and TLR will remind us once again that he has a 200+IQ
  12. cant believe Leury is leading off again, im so tired of this edit: and no vaughn, i want to fing scream
  13. Not that i would trade moncada but there are probably teams like the Giants who would be able to get him back to 2019 form. If they are confident then the contract doesnt matter.
  14. The fact that Vaughn never plays first is a sign Abreu has a new contract if he wants it.
  15. Good lord that atbat was an utter failure, just so bad not even close
  16. Yes and no, its weird that none of his signings are overperforming (or just perform comparatively to their career norms) . Theres something amiss. How do the Giants get Pederson and he goes off like he is? When have we had an offensive player do anything even close to that? Is it an organizational problem? Analytics? How can anyone possibly explain just how bad free agents do when they put on the Sox uniform? His extensions were good, but the players havent done anything there either. Moncada, Eloy, what the shit.
  17. I didnt want to make another thread for this, but if the White Sox signed BOTH Harper and Machado then the team payroll would still be less than the Mets, Dodgers, and Yankees. Thought that was hilarious considering the "money will be spent" and "there will be a world championship parade" comments. They account for almost 5 WAR this season alone already. Would have been nice, of course thats only if we had an owner that gave a shit.
