  1. Needed another starter at the deadline. Davis is living on a prayer as Bon Jovi might say.
  2. Martin spends too much time praying to Jesus. It doesn't work.
  3. Obvious ...look at the play. If he dives for it, it gets past him if he doesn't make the catch. But...it doesn't matter. This game is over.
  4. I checked with Ron first.
  5. IMO, Venable should almost never bench Antonacci or pinch hit for him. I'm tired of Venable automatically playing split advantages. There is more to consider, especially with a player like Sam-bone.
  6. Maybe we will see El Duque 2.0 (Huascar Brazobán) in a replay of the 2005 ALCS. It feels like the Sox need to hold the BoSox scoreless to win .
  7. Center Field defense is key. Pereira could not cover CF. I am not going to panic because Peters has been in a slump. I think he has been over-aggressive, kind of like Colson, and has to make some adjustments. Take a few pitches here and there, learn how to defend the plate with 2 strikes, go oppo or to get a longer look at the pitch, and cut down the swing. Whatever, Sox have a hitting coach. Meanwhile, Peters is a gazelle in the outfield. I don't care about slumps and splits, he has to be out there almost every game.
  8. Look, Seranthony had to go, and there was no easy way to off-load him and the money that remained on his Contract. I would have been fine with DFAing him. He's toast, and the M's will soon realize that.
  9. Tomorrow the time for second guessing will end and it will be time to go to battle. Red Sox series is gonna be a b1tch.
  10. Wolkow has way too much upside to include him in a trade at this point. He's young, he keeps himself fit, and he works hard.
  11. Boston gave up a sh1t ton of prospects to get Rutsch who is maybe about as good as Teel but no better. Kyle could be awesome if he could just stay on the field..
  12. Getz concluded that he was not going to trade prospect gold for 4-5 weeks of a catcher. If Teel comes back at or near 100% on or around Sept 1, that would be a big boost.
  13. Torrens (Catcher) from Mets would potentially be a wise trade.
  14. Peters is in a slump but he is a 2026 All Star. The balls he has hit hard will start falling for hits. No reason to be so reactive to every hitting slump and bump in the road that every player experiences. They Scout a player for holes in their swing, and after time, a player will adjust. Peters will. This trade was a head scratcher.
  15. El Duque II. Loved that pick-up back in 2005.
  16. Boston has some tough LH pitching. Payton Tolle dominated our lineup in the last series. White Sox have to find a way to scratch and claw and score a few runs. Maybe Grichuk, Periera and Vargas can bang a few off the Green Monster.
  17. Kimbrel got DFAed after the game with Freddy Peralta coming on.
  18. Rutsch was recently on the injured list due to a wrist issue. I think he returned recently or maybe was supposed to return sometime this month. Admittedly, I did not look to update that. Unfortunately like Teel, he has been on the IL three times in 2026. That has to be unacceptable to JR and Getz. Not sure JR would want to get in a bidding war with the Yankees for Hunter Goodman. His defense isn't that great, but he can hit, and he is RH. Yea, Teel's last injury really put a wrench in the works, especially for this trade deadline.
  19. Wolkow is from the Chicago area. He has been a disciple of Jim Thome. I seriously doubt the White Sox will trade him. He's going to be a Chicago White Sox player and a good one.
  20. Set aside any prejudice some may have against Schriffen and the understandable mistakes and misstatements that he has made and listen to how he narrates the game and provides excitement and entertainment. You can't have a much better call than this. https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/video/mason-barnett-in-play-run-s-to-tristan-peters
  21. Do you like Obama or Trump? Same thing here. It doesn't matter if you dislike or even hate Schriffen, or why you feel that way. It just doesn't. It is what it is. Relax and try to enjoy the games.
  22. Braden scratched...his ankle. Pereira's timing seems to be way off. Maybe Periera and Romo should cut down on their swings and try to go up the middle or Oppo. Get contact and maybe something good will happen.
  23. I agree. Best at this point is to let it play out, at least until the end of the trade deadline, and maybe even until Schultz has another start. Noah came within one bad pitch of keeping the game scoreless which could have put that game into extra innings. As Plesac commented, Noah was very aggressive in the strike zone when he had to be. You can teach some pitchers how to grip and throw a baseball, but you can't teach the leverage he has from his 6'10" frame.
