  1. So the Miami Heat are pretty damn good.... These new technical rules are f***ing ridiculous btw.
  2. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 29, 2010 -> 02:12 PM) I actually expected Jaws to be higher than #5, but I'm glad it's right up there. It was my choice for #1 because of the effect it still has on me. I'm not scared of the water by any means, but I cannot going into any depth of water without the thought of a shark (or something) possibly being in there. That is thanks to Jaws. You know something gets to you when you think about it while in four feet of water in your backyard. Agreed. No other horror movie has had any type of lasting effect on me other then Jaws.
  3. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 28, 2010 -> 03:42 PM) Dawn of the Dead remake is way better. I had both versions on my list.
  4. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 28, 2010 -> 09:37 PM) That Tommy Hamilton Jr., thats not the son of Thomas Hamilton that played for King in the 90s, is it??? Cause if he is, I would probably avoid that awful work ethic. Yes it is and his father is not at all involved in his life.
  5. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 28, 2010 -> 01:46 PM) AP Top 25: 1.Duke (55) 2.Michigan St. (8) 3.Kansas St. (2) 4.Ohio St. 5.Pittsburgh 6.Villanova 7.Kansas 8.North Carolina 9.Florida 10.Syracuse 11.Kentucky 12.Gonzaga 13.Illinois 14.Purdue 15.Missouri 16.Baylor 17.Butler 18.Washington 19.Memphis 20.Georgetown 21.Virginia Tech 22.Temple 23.Tennessee 24.BYU 25.San Diego St. Wisconsin should be a top 25 team and how the hell is Carolina ranked in the top 10?
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 28, 2010 -> 01:31 PM) Yup, its official Really good get. So out of the 9 top 100 kids from the state Illinois got 4 of them and they got 4 out of the 6 they had a chance at (Blackshear and Davis were never playing for Illinois since we won't pay for players, and Boatright wasn't going to the same school as Abrams). Shaw kind of falls into the Sam Thompson category of leaving you wanting more but he has tons of talent and the interesting thing with Shaw is when playing for his HS team De La Salle he looks like a top 25 type player but when he plays for the Mac Irvin Fire in AAU he is just a guy. But then again Meyers Leonard did nothing when he played with the Fire so I think the coaching staff has more to do with that then the player.
  7. Michael O'Brien from the Sun-Times is stating that Shaw will choose Illinois today. What a huge kick in the nuts that would be if he turns out to be wrong.
  8. Rose is a really good player, but early indications from the preseason and tonight are that he still can't shoot the 3 at all.
  9. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 27, 2010 -> 05:38 PM) Is Mike Davis going to stand in the way of playing time for Richmond and Leonard? Once the season starts the starters will be DMac, Richardson, Richmond, Davis and Tisdale. Leonard, Paul, Cole, Griffey and Head will see time off the bench. I think Bertrand is the odd man out for this year because no way do we play an 11 man rotation.
  10. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 27, 2010 -> 05:26 PM) Are you and Shaw neighbors? Has he told you that? I agree that Shaw goes to Illinois, but he definitely had plans to play with other guys he knows if he could have. Again, Shaw didn't play AAU ball with Randle and as far as I know Shaw isn't close friends with Randle and except for seeing each other at big events probably hasn't even had a ton of contact with him. Shaw on the other hand is incredibly familiar with Mycheal Henry, Tracy Abrams, Crandall Head, and Meyers Leonard. All of those guys were on the same AAU team last year and he is very good friends with Henry.
  11. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 27, 2010 -> 04:24 PM) Guess he sees more playing time out there. Curious what Shaw will do now. Shaw's decision has zero to do with Randle's decision. I can guarantee you that. I think Shaw winds up at Illinois because that is where all the smoke is coming from and I would have a mini meltdown if he goes elsewhere. If anything I think Randle picked today to announce because he knew Shaw was deciding tomorrow and that would greatly reduce the heat he gets from Illini fans.
  12. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Oct 27, 2010 -> 03:44 PM) It's reported recently that the press conference is invite-only, which to me points to him selecting Stanford. Randle to Stanford. Huge meh on this from me. I like him as a player would have liked to have him at Illinois but except for maybe Bertrand he isn't as good as any of the current recruits or players at guard.
  13. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 27, 2010 -> 03:10 PM) Randle could choose Stanford, and if that is the case, Shaw will be weighing his options more, but my buddy still thins he will choose Illinois. I'm curious what the deal with Shaw is. At first he was rumored to go where Blackshear went and now where Randle could go. Can't the kid think on his own. His best move would be Illinois right now. Shaw's decision has nothing to do with Randle's decision. Shaw announced he was making his decision Monday before he even knew Randle was deciding. And as far as I know the two of them aren't even good friends. They aren't from the same area and never played together in AAU ball.
  14. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 27, 2010 -> 11:24 AM) Heard from a good source that he and Shaw to Illinois which would just be massive for Weber. I hope you are right but if I could only choose one give me Shaw. I think Randle is the better player right now but Shaw has more upside and Illinois needs a PF a lot more than a combo guard. I still really want Randle, but with Paul, Head, Richardson, Abrams, Henry and Bertrand he is more a luxury recruit than a necessity.
  15. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 26, 2010 -> 09:52 PM) I think I say this every year on here, but there isn't a damn thing I hate more in sports than the overrated chant. Other than that, suck it Miami! Obviously one game doesn't mean much but I'll say again that this team has no f***in chance in hell of winning 70 games. And yes, I'm going to continue to comment about that after every loss, cause it's just an absurd thought to me. I think they are a year away from having a shot at 70 wins but I still think they win the title.
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 26, 2010 -> 09:13 PM) I think this is what Bosh will be for them all year. Just not going to get his stats on this team consistently. Maybe but this Heat team will probably look very different in January then they do right now.
  17. Is there a dumber chant in all of sports than the overrated chant? Well maybe, every fan of every team chanting MVP for their best player.
  18. I'm enjoying Fallout New Vegas but I don't find the story or characters as engrossing as Fallout 3.
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 25, 2010 -> 11:50 AM) I don't really think many are blaming coaching on yesterday's debacle. Lovie's challenges always have been pretty pathetic. I don't blame him for that because someone needs to be informing him when to challenge, and apparently the Bears either don't have anyone doing that or someone who might not have access to replays. Outside the first quarter, the line wasn't that bad yesterday, certainly good enough to score more points. I also agree, this is all on Angelo. I'm not a Cutler guy, although I admire the talent, but I can't see where he wouldn't be at least slightly shellshocked right now, and it has to be contributing to his struggles. He drops back into the pocket and drops his head like he's going to get hit a lot of times before the rush is really that close. Ron Turner of course, was the Bears' version of Greg Walker, and he finally took the bullet. But if you recall last season, when people were complaining the game plan was too simple,(ironic because now its supposedly too complicated) he basically stated Bears' personnel was unable to grasp anything but the basic stuff. He basically said they weren't intelligent enough to use his entire offense. Now you have Martz, and it appears Turner was correct in his analysis. The amount of hits that Cutler has taken this year is clearly taking a toll. Despite the line playing reasonably well in the 2nd half, they were horrendous in the 1st half yesterday and as you pointed out even when Cutler had time in the 2nd half he looked scared of getting hit. When you also take into account that the Bears WR core is mediocre at best, there is no running game whatsoever, I think there are maybe 3 or 4 QBs that would have the ability to have success with the Bears.
  20. QUOTE (kev211 @ Oct 24, 2010 -> 07:37 PM) Auburn #1 in new BCS, what a joke. Boise still 3... Teams keep losing but they still don't get their chance. What a joke. Auburn has beaten LSU, Arkansas, and South Carolina. They are far more deserving of being #1 than Boise.
  21. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Oct 24, 2010 -> 02:37 PM) Cutler has given this game away, I dont care what the announcer says the most Knox coulda done is tackle Hall. Cutler has played awful lately, but that was a piss poor route by Knox.
