  1. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Sep 22, 2010 -> 03:44 PM) I believe our first round pick is always protected. The other team would get a pick or two in the compensation round. Your first round pick is protected if it is within the first 15 picks.
  2. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Sep 21, 2010 -> 10:34 PM) Lol, Hawk just randomly starts making ominous comments about Delmon Young.... out of no where.... "I guess we will have to take care of this Delmon Young situation next year" "We play them 19 times a year. His time will come. His time will come." "We let Torri Hunter slide a few years ago, but Delmon Young won't slide this time. His time will come" umm.....ok Hawk.... Ozzie's teams have never retaliated when that type of stuff has happened. Unless he isn't coming back why would they suddenly start to retaliate?
  3. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 21, 2010 -> 12:19 PM) If he doesn't botch that up, he'll fill that need only to make another hole elsewhere. Getting a career DH sure cost a lot of money to fix that hole made in CF. Aaron Rowand has had one good season since he left the Sox and is making a ton of money. I'm thrilled he isn't on the Sox.
  4. QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 19, 2010 -> 03:47 PM) It really hurts that Chris Williams, who was for all intents and purposes the right pick at the time, is looking like a bust now. When you leave the game due to injury and you are replaced by FRANK GOD DAMN MOTHERf***ING OMIYALE and there is no dropoff in play that's a searing indictment against you. The OL play actually got significantly better after Williams went out. Granted Martz's adjustments had a lot to do with it but Williams has been awful so far this year.
  5. QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Sep 19, 2010 -> 03:16 PM) sam thompson to ohio state His athleticism is incredible but I have seen him play 10-15 times and I have never seen him have an impact on a game. Hell the only noticeable thing he did in the state semifinals this year was get dunked on by Richmond. But with his athleticism he has a chance to be special down the line.
  6. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Sep 19, 2010 -> 02:52 PM) Is this line better without Chris Williams? Kevin Shaffer looks good at RT. It sure seems like it. Of course Chris Williams hasn't blocked anyone through 2 weeks.
  7. Great catch by Hester. Cutler playing an amazing game today.
  8. Great adjustment by Martz and great throws by Cutler on those two plays.
  9. This is pathetic, everyone on the OL should give their paychecks back and please fire Angelo.
  10. Dumbasses, 94 is one of the best players in the NFL you might want to block him.
  11. Jerry Angelo should be fired for putting this OL together. Embarrassing
  12. The Bears Oline is unbelievably bad. Thanks for valuing that position Angelo.
  13. Not a great performance today by Illinois but at least they won. Scheelhaase struggled throwing the ball today but again the OL has not shown any ability whatsoever to pass block. The ground game was dominant though. The defense had a few huge lapses today but played well for the most part.
  14. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 18, 2010 -> 12:29 PM) Reverse psychology That was an incredible collapse by UMass to end the half.
  15. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Sep 16, 2010 -> 08:18 PM) Hawk really needs to stop whining about the ump. Those two pitches were clearly balls. He has been completely over the top when it comes to umpires this year. I've never been a Hawk hater but with his increased reliance on catch phrases and constant whining its been really annoying listening to him this year.
  16. QUOTE (kwolf68 @ Sep 15, 2010 -> 11:46 PM) Not sure who should go, but neither one will. If I had my pick I'd say Kenny Williams, it seems he just makes trades now for the sake of trading and has now shipped 3 excellent starting pitchers...all young...all cheap to other teams for overpriced players (Peavy), crappy players (Swisher) or guys who won't be around very long anyway (Jackson). Swisher is a very good player who had a bad year with the Sox. He is hitting .288 with a .876 OPS and 26 HRs this year. The problem with the Swisher trade was dumping him for nothing the next year when his value was at its lowest point. And Clayton Richard isn't excellent, he is a product of pitching in San Diego just like just about everyone else on that staff.
  17. I loved the Halo Reach campaign and I'm still adjusting to online play since the BR is significantly different from Halo 3 as are the damage grenades and melee attacks do. I really don't think I'm going to like the arena system for ranked play though.
  18. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 15, 2010 -> 09:20 PM) Well scoring only 92 runs in April might of had a slight hand in some of our losses. Jim Thome or a real DH certainly wouldn't have helped the offense at all in April. The pitchers screwed us.
  19. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 15, 2010 -> 09:18 PM) Shhh...you sound rational. It's all Ozzie's fault. Repeat 3 times. (It's all Ozzie's fault.) (It's all Ozzie's fault.) (It's all Ozzie's fault.) Then repeat 5 times... (It's all Kotsay's fault.) (It's all Kotsay's fault.) (It's all Kotsay's fault.) (It's all Kotsay's fault.) (It's all Kotsay's fault.) Then you'll start to fit in. LOL it certainly isn't all Kotsay's fault or all Ozzie's fault but if you can't acknowledge that choosing Kotsay over Thome is one of the dumbest personnel moves in recent memory and the rotating DH idea is f***ing stupid and cost us several games this year then I don't know what to say.
  20. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 15, 2010 -> 09:08 PM) I'm not sure if it's possible to be a bigger douche nozzle. He is a dumbass and probably related to Ozzie.
  21. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 15, 2010 -> 09:07 PM) Wrong again. Next. Thome has been worth at least a couple of wins to the Twins and would have been worth a couple of wins to the Sox. Would that have been enough to make the playoffs? Who knows but the Sox would be much closer than they are right now. Instead Ozzie, because he is a dumbass and wants to play like the 03 decides that it would be ok to put a s***ty hitter in the DH spot so players can get more rest not realizing that just because you have a DH doesn't mean he has to play every day.
  22. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Sep 15, 2010 -> 04:15 PM) As the Sox move into the off season and a possible decision looms between keeping Ozzie or keeping Kenny, I won't dwell on the $4 million wasted on Manny Ramirez, who has contributed more bogus haircuts than RBIs or extra-base hits. Instead, I'll note that Daniel Hudson, Gio Gonzalez and Clayton Richard, three pitchers making under a half-million each, three guys at least four seasons from free agency, three guys drafted by and developed by the White Sox are a combined 32-17. All three have earned run averages below 3.50. All three have allowed fewer hits than innings pitched. All three are five games over. 500. Not keeping any of the three was a colossal blunder by the GM and the collective decisions will contribute to financial difficulties on the roster in the next few years. There. Now I feel better. Clayton Richard is a product of pitching in San Diego. He would be nothing more than a 4th starter at best in the AL and US Cellular field.
  23. Looks like there is a decent chance Calipari might be vacating another season. I am sure this is yet another coincidence he had no knowledge about though. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/09/15/sports/n...ml?_r=3&hpw
  24. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 09:33 PM) The Twins must laugh their asses off on flights about their owning of the Sox, aside from the magical playoff game. It would help to get a manager who isn't scared of the Sox biggest rival and have a roster full of players that don't piss their pants when they play the Twins because they expect to lose.
