Bridgeport and Bronzeville may have seen a renaissance but there is nothing to do in short walking distance after the game. There are 2 bars near the ballpark and people just drink beers on the sidewalk after a game because there's not enough capacity. Last time I tried, we gave up and ended up taking an uber to a bar a few blocks from the 78 site. You bring up Chinatown... The 78 is probably closer and easier to get to Chinatown to than Sox Park is.

To me, this just means that there's no date certain that a sale must occur. Jerry has the option to sell until a certain point and then Ishbia controls the option. Theoretically, Jerry could choose to hold on to it and Ishbia could change his mind and not exercise his option to buy.

He just seems very confident about this and I was curious. If he is an engineer, in construction, or in real estate development, it makes his posts carry more weight than if he's just some opinionated dude in sales who is driving past the site or looking at it on google maps. Do you guys honestly think all these billionaires and real estate professionals haven't done feasibility studies on the site? Also, civil engineering has been a thing for like thousands of years. Not sure what you mean by that. You think the Great Pyramids in Egypt were constructed based on "common sense?"

I don't understand why carriers wouldn't want local sports. That's the only thing keeping them alive. Last time I checked, MTV, one of the premiere cable brands, just shows that show called Ridiculousness 20 hours a day. Its a wasteland of nothing. There's no reason to subscribe without sports.

Someone has a Costco membership and they get rid of it and announce to everyone its because they have a problem with the products and service at Costco. A little later, in a separate conversation, another person mentions they began to buy their olive oil from Costco and its made a big difference in their cooking. The first person responds by saying, "Costco is popular. If that's how you want to get your food, suit yourself. It wont be where I get MY OLIVE OIL" That is clearly not the same as "oh, I meant I just don't buy stuff at Costco because my membership lapsed... but I'm a huge fan of the Kirkland olive oil!" He's either full of s%*# or so bent out of shape about twitter that he can't stop talking about it. Both are weird. Another thing... He's being a dick to Brooke Fletcher who is just trying to give a cool little tidbit! She gives her report and he needs to insert himself in the story immediately and kind of shoots her down.

I remember during the LAA series that Bill Walton did, one of Jason's other guest partners was the tv writer, Michael Schur (who was also from the old Fire Joe Morgan blog). For about an inning or so, those two guys were like trying to guess exit velocities and launch angles. It was great. Two baseball nerds watching the game and goofing around. That's what I want in my announcer. Not some unknowledgeable insecure combative guy who tries to start fights with radio hosts and twitter accounts or tries to appeal to people he assumes are meatball south siders ("Ah, hell naw, we aint taking that!"). He has made me yearn for Connor McKnight, which is shocking.

You know there are a lot of potential outcomes in between Garrett Crochet-level breakout and failure. You act like Crochet's breakout was foreseeable. The thread announcing him as opening day starter a year ago was full of people criticizing the move and saying we had an opener starting game 1.

I think they made a decision to have that type of "analysis" as their brand. He goes on Bernstein/Holmes shows on 670 and its like "this is a smart fan's take" but he never says anything interesting or insightful. Its always the same old easy second guessing crap. I remember one time they were obsessing over some minor roster transaction like leaving Jake Peter off the 40 man roster before a rule 5 draft and that's when I decided to unfollow all of them. I also hate his voice. Jim isn't as bad. And Fegan is good... but I have no interest to subscribe to the patreon just for Fegan.
