  1. Ok. That makes more sense. I don't understand this mentality. There's like a million OFers in the farm and they are blocked at MLB level. Is the plan to keep these guys in hopes that they can start in 2 years when they are 26 and 25 and there is room on the MLB roster? I'd think now is the time to trade guys like that.
  2. Am I missing something? From what I have read, Joey Ortiz is a 25 year old 5'9 middle infielder with below average speed who may have average power but is a utility guy if he doesn't. Right? If so, he can't really be the centerpiece of a Cease deal except in the delusional fever dreams of a bunch of guys who sound like Sgt. Wayne Jenkins from that HBO show.
  3. Its still December. There has been barely any activity this offseason so far. There's no rush.
  4. The difference seems to be that Mike Rizzo and Theo Epstein had balls.
  5. After reading through the Orioles board a couple times in the last few weeks, I want him to get traded to another AL East team, win Cy Young, and have the Orioles miss the playoffs. They probably wouldn't care so long as the Norfolk Tides dominate AAA.
  6. Yeah this would have made sense for Sox. Who would be the equivalent to the Braves players in our system?
  7. GETZ FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! 2024 WORLD SERIES!
  8. There's a lot to rip JR about... but this is unfair. How many teams have had a minority as the #1 baseball person for 20 years?
  9. Did anyone else hear Kiley McDaniel say Shane Mcclanahan would have been a white Sox if they thought he was singable and the rays drafted him and called his bluff? Or did I mishear? Has that been reported elsewhere?
  10. Figured it out... Its this Woods guy... https://omny.fm/shows/ben-woods-on-demand I listened to a couple minutes and his take was "We had fun with him as a guest and my son loves him but this makes me sick"
  11. When the Sox signed Clevinger, CHGO podcast with Herb and Sean Anderson had some guy from San Diego on to talk about it and he kept saying how much he liked Clevinger and how nicely Clevinger treated this guy's kid. It also seemed like this guy liked him because he was a good interview. Does anyone remember who this was? I'm curious to look at his twitter to see if he has made any comments about it.
  12. Do you guys know if they unlock more tickets each time there is a new presale/sale?
  13. Putting pre-debut injury risks aside.... Does the fact that a guy like Kelley already has MLB caliber stuff and body help mitigate some of the risk? When people bring up his "now" body, that's usually a knock on him. Why wouldn't you want the guy who is guaranteed to have the right size over the guy you hope grows into that?
  14. Ok... That's what I figured they meant. I'm assuming the thought process is that the LH pitchers are worth the risk?
  15. Why do people say a right handed high school pitcher is a bad profile to draft?
  16. Even though it’s supposedly a deep draft, if you are going to go quality over quantity, I think it makes sense to do it this year when there’s only 5 total rounds. How much quantity are we really missing out on? Or am I looking at it wrong?
  17. MVP was the best. Ken Griffey JR for SNES is on my list as is Triple Play and OOTP.... the game I loved that didn’t make it is Legends of the Diamond for NES... you would pick your team from HOFers... anyone else remember that one? Edit: I forgot about High Heat... I had a computer version in early 2000s that I remember was super fun
  18. I remember reading/hearing that it isn’t close enough in terms of reliability to come to MLB anytime soon and that it will happen but not for a couple years.
  19. Yup. The only two options are/were Wade Miley or Dylan Covey.
  20. People have legitimately lost their minds. It’s mid-December. They signed the best catcher on the market. Then they offered their top SP choice 125 million dollars. If they did that during the winter meetings instead of the 2 weeks leading up to the meeting, people would be happy. Sox fans have turned into a bunch of whiny, panicky, wimps. Get a hold of yourselves. The fanbase is in hysterics. And why? Because they signed an average player who may or may not be the 7th hitter when all is said and done?
  21. Jon Daniels has been with the Rangers since like the John Danks trade at least....
  22. If I’m taking back all that $$, why am I sending someone as good as Collins back? The only way I can see that working is if Boston prefers to sends a decent amount of money along with their players.... if it was up to me, I’d just keep Collins and take on the contracts.
